Lately, I have been watching YouTube videos on 2d and 3d game development, and I must say I really find it attractive to engage with these tools. At first, I wanted to start and proceed with Unity Hub because it has most of the completed projects to engage with and also Nodes. Still, my laptop and computer look weak to engage with it because it slows down, and the graphics are a little bit weird, so I went for the easy version since I am just starting, which is Godot.
One of the major reasons I want to engage in game development is not that I choose it as a career, I am more focused on Penetration testing and social analysis, but I just find Augmented reality and virtual reality interesting, especially when you are playing a game or watching an animated video. I got to know about AR/VR last year and trust me, my interest in it has been growing day by day.
Those who don't know about Godot, Godot is a 2d and 3d gaming application, used for creating games. It's quite easy to use and understand, but it lacks so many advanced nodes and gameplay, unlike Unity Hub. Unity Hub is more advanced than Godot. I am starting with Godot because of my Computer capacity.
To install the Unity Hub full package requires almost 8/9 GB to run, while Godot just requires 80mb I installed both, actually, but I feel I should start with Godot since it is just a basic tool I know. With time, I will advance to Unity Hub.
My aim is actually to build a game on Hive that will be loved and admired by many people, also to engage on Hive. I know with time, I will be able to achieve this game. Presently, I aim at advancing in learning this skill basically for fun, and it might also have a big potential for my career.
AR/VR has really caught my attention in so many ways, I look forward to learning, and it was last week that I started this learning, following Brackeys' training on YouTube videos. This is one of the reasons I will always prefer YouTube over every other video application. I spent my first week, which was last week, getting familiar with most of the interface, nodes and scene, because I know Godot is different from Unity and Unreal, but it's a good start.
This week I look forward to working on a project that will be good and simple since I am still a beginner learning the basics. I will love to freestyle on this game, I believe it might even become a standard game because everything starts from a trial. After I make this week's project, my next project will be a standard game prototype, which may be next week or the next two weeks. I plan on seeing how it goes soon. Deep inside I feel happy and relieved, like the feeling was worth it.
