Most times we tend to live our lives as that of people we look up to, we try in every possible way to do just like them. Some others go as far as living their life just as copying their mode of dressing, some even go to the extreme of eating the same diet of people they look up to.
Role models are people who we look up to and we decide at a point that we want to be just like them.
Everyone has his or her own role model, and there are certain reasons to which a person wants a person to be his or her role model. Some characteristics are better known to some individuals and not meant for us to know.
Months ago I was in this leadership program, and there was this teaching happening at a segment of the program. I did listen attentively and grab some things and I pondered over it at my leisure hour.
While the teaching was going on, the speaker spoke about the qualities of a role model. Along the line he asked us a question and I quote "what character do you think a younger person or anybody around you can say he or she wants to emulate and make you their role model".
I thought hard about it for a while then I asked my circle of friends, I even overstepped my boundaries by asking the little ones around me "what do you think a person can emulate in me" and their response did put smiles on my face.
Most of them were saying my tolerance and my down to earth personality, and indeed when I sat and made a recall of my spent life so far I noticed the level of my tolerance is something that really needs to be studied.
And as for my down to earth personality is not something I do myself, it just happens naturally and I do it selflessly.
So I can boldly say that I have two things people can emulate from me and call me a role model for that, tolerance and my down to earth personality.
