When I was younger, I am part of those that does not have a clear view of what career to choose or what I intend to become in the future even though I am very good in mathematics and quantitative reasonings.
So getting to the junior high school, the interest grew even more for mathematics and I also develop another interest in Basic science but hated Business studies as a subject.
At that moment I started having a clear view that I will be a science student still without a career to choose, though I am contemplating that I might study 'Mathematics'. Spending two years in the senior high school, my love grew more for Chemistry because I discovered that almost everything do undergo changes be it physical or chemical changes. And all that existed, still existing or would exist revolve around chemistry.
Therefore, I got determined to be a chemist in the future. Surfing through the internet on the uses and importance of chemistry, I came across Forensic science. So I have it in mind to study Forensic in the college.
When it was time to write the college entrance examination, I had to applied for chemistry (in my country no course in Forensic science for undergraduate except in post graduate), so I was admitted to study chemistry for 4 years.
But to my greatest surprise, I got what I never bargained for😥. The course was not what I expected at all; it was divided into 5 branches, Physical, Organic, Inorganic, Analytical and Environmental Chemistry,
The course was broader than the name it was given, I have to combine research, practical work, theoretical work and presentations together. It got to an extent I feel like giving up because the stress was becoming too much but I remember the first degree in chemistry is a requirement for my career so I was determined never to give up so as to have the required result in my final year in other to further for my Master's program and become a Forensic Chemist.
Thankfully, I'm now a certified Chemist. It now remain to go for my Post graduate program.

- They perform investigation techniques like DNA analysis, finger printing analysis, test for blood samples etc
- They work with other investigative specialist in the laboratories too
The importance of Forensic science is to find solutions to hidden truth and also help in solving crime related issues.
I believe my dream to become a Forensic Chemist will still come through even though the economy is depriving me for now. But I will keep pushing till my dream come through.
