Learning is a continuous process and so far we are still alive we keep learning daily. No one can say he or she is an island of knowledge, we live to learn from others then improve on the knowledge learnt.
When a child is birthed, learning starts from the home but there are some people that have a poor upbringing in which they lack home training and this affected their lifestyles. Some parents thought that a child's training is only done by the school teachers they don't know that the first school of a child is the home, follow by the school and then to any vocational center of ones choice.
I actually have some many things that I have interest in, I'm a fast learner in which I can learn something just at a glance then follow it up online through YouTube videos and e-books.
I have the knowledge of: Shoe repair, Hairdressing, Catering, Computer type setting and Sewing
I learnt shoe repair from an uncle while I was in secondary school, presently I sew any of my worn out slippers by myself without stress but I didn't take any further training to improve in it cause I see it as a male's work but recently I've seen few female cobblers, I just want the basic which I've known.
I know about hair making from a friend in my area that owns a shop, I can perfectly plait weaving, fix weave on, crochet and I've started learning wig making through YouTube videos
The first wig that was made by ME
I'm very good in snacks making but not cake baking. My younger sister bakes, so I'm using style to serve as her apprentice whenever she has a delivery to make to learn how to bake. I now have the idea but still an amateur, the only thing left is to practice on my own how to bake a fluffy cake.
After my junior high school, I have the privilege of enrolling for a computer training. This enrollment really helped me a lot, I'm very good in type setting and power points presentation. I would love to know Corel draw and web design too
SEWING
The skill I took alot of interest in and still planning to improve the more is sewing. I so much love the creativities in fashion, the act of thinking about a style and sewing to perfection interest me so much, but creating a style isn't easy at all.
Myself and sisters
I could remember the first time I sew, my legs ache badly and I couldn't have the control of the sewing machine always cutting thread and sewing backward. The first blouse I cut was a total disaster, I mistakenly cut the front part into two pieces and the neck depth was as wide as a big bowl.....lol.... likewise the second, third and fourth sewing was horrible and nothing to write home about. I felt disappointed at first cause I wasn't getting it right and I'm always nervous whenever I want to cut a cloth but I was determined never to give up and I encouraged myself.
My elder sister
During my NYSC (a mandatory service year for a Nigerian graduate), I enrolled for another sewing training and this time around I have the ample time to devote for the skill couple with YouTube videos, this healed my nervousness and made me who I am today.
Myself
I can gladly say I've improved a lot and I've moved from been an amateur to a very good seamstress but I'm aren't a professional yet. I now sew for my Mom, myself, My sisters and friends.
Myself and sisters
I believe with hard work I can still be better and also the best in whatsoever that I'm doing.
