Hello friend, hope your weekend has been going smoothly? Welcome back to my blog!
Obviously, this is not your first New Year. Tell us about the celebration you had in the past that really stuck to your mind. One you will never forget
Everyone always look forward to the new year with great expectations. No one dream to be stagnant in the new year, everyone have the aim to move forward and achieve greater things, so seeing the new year been alive is worth celebrating, it also makes one know that there is hope. I've enjoyed every new year that I've celebrated previously and I hope those ones in the future will meet me in wellness and peace of mind.
The best new year celebration that I've had was when I was much younger, I always look forward to the new year's day because the celebration is always a unique one with my Dad's elder brother. My paternal grandmother gave birth to three sons, my Dad is the last born, the second born of the family named Uncle Mike is very accommodating than the first born.
So myself and siblings are used to him a lot, he loved us so dearly that people can't distinguish between us and his children. When it's December like this, we are always joyous and expectant that something huge is coming our ways on the new year's day.
My Uncle is an educationist and also a farmer, he made me love plantain a lot because he had lot of it's plantations on his farm. Before the Christmas day, he will send message to us to ask for two gifts, the most interesting part is that he will ask each of us to write it as a letter to him, but with terms and conditions, if there is any grammatical error in your letter your needs are nullified.....omo nah to sit down and write correct grammar to get gifts o.🤣
To our greatest surprise, he buys almost all what we had requested. And in a situation whereby he can't meet up with all, he will still buy it before the end of the first quarter of the year. He is such a reliable and loving man, I even wished he was my Dad when I was young cause he corrects with love when one is wrong and doesn't use slapping for correction like my Dad😪.
After giving myself and siblings our requested gifts, next is for him to give the family gifts of different types of fruits and farm produces that can last the family for at least a whole month (Mom loved this aspect alot). Then after lunch on the new year's day, he will take us out to the amusement park for swing and horse rides. I loved that horse ride alot, I do feel nervous when riding but I always look forward to it because I only get to ride horse once in a year, so I do make use of the opportunity very well.
Myself and siblings do enjoy our outing with our Uncle Mike of blessed memory, we lost him in 2008 when I was in secondary school. We thought it was a dream but when it was 2009 new year's day we cried uncontrollably because we missed his presence. I can say the years spent with him was memorable and can't be forgotten at all.
