To be a teacher or an instructor is a very delicate profession, whether you are trained to be a teacher or not, so far you are an instructor to a person or group of people, you need to be careful on how you live your life because teaching is all about impacting lives.
Teaching deals with passion, once you see a passionate teacher you will definitely see unique qualities in such a fellow, but there are some people who are in the teaching profession because it's the easiest job they can find, so they aren't passionate about the job but they are just there because of the salary they are earning.
I have been taught by quiet a number of teachers right from my primary school till tertiary institution days, I've seen those that are passionate about their teaching profession and those that aren't. So if I am to grade all my teachers, than their will be those that will be excellently graded and those that would be poorly graded.
Best Teacher
Talking about my best teachers, most especially those teachers that influenced me greatly in the subjects that I dearly love, which is Mathematics and Chemistry. Then Mr Olatoye and Mrs Idiong will be the teachers I will rate 10/10.
Today I will talk about my maths teacher, the man who helped to built my love for science subjects.
Mr Olatoye
He was my mathematics teacher in primary school, this man made it compulsory for each pupils in my class to have maths textbooks, maths workbook and also assignment notes apart from our maths note. No one can ever go scort free when you fail his test or score below his satisfactory mark in class work. This man always make sure that we answer almost all exercises per topic in the textbook, his ideology for doing that is because most times, we do have visitors from the ministry of education who might pick pupils randomly and give us questions from the textbook to solve based on the topic the teacher is teaching for the week, so he always prepare us ahead so as to have sound knowledge of whatsoever he is teaching.
Mr Olatoye doesn't spare anyone that misbehaves at all, he punishes when necessary and after that he will sit you down so as to advise you. We are all free with him to the extent that he can solve maths question at anywhere, once you see him either in the neighborhood or church just call him and he will help you to solve your maths problem. Today I own my sound knowledge of mathematics and love for science subjects to him because he was the one that inbuilt the passion for science in me. I loved this great man so dearly that I always remember him almost everyday of my life once I come across maths questions.
Worst Teacher
My Geography teacher in secondary school robbed me of the knowledge I was supposed to have in the subject. This man is not always around in school, I believe he was part of those that doesn't have flare for teaching profession but he was in it just for the salary. Throughout the 3 terms we used in Senior Secondary School One (sss1), I don't think this man came to class up to six times. He just send notes and set exams that's all, he doesn't care about us. I lost interest in the subject because of the man's non chalant attitude. So if I should rate him, I can categorically say is my worst Teacher who I will grade 1/10
Therefore, just as I've said earlier on, the teaching profession is a delicate profession in which you have to be very careful when you engage in it cause it can either help in shaping and impacting lives through your passion or ruin lives through your non chalant attitudes.
