Hello Hive
Introduction.
It will be totally out of place if we work out our lives for 11 months of the year only to squander off everything in December in the name of holidays and festivities. I am of the opinion that our financial plans for the future should be a bit rigid enough that even holidays or festivities will not interfere.
Every expenditures of our lives should have a tangible price tag attached to it. Hence, if you want to plan for festivities, it should be included in our budgets right from the start of the year, rather than entering into December only to use up our life savings to celebrate the festivities and and start all over again.
Plans for festivities, Celebrations, holidays and vacations can be part of a new year's budget. When the time comes, you just pick up the funds meant for such activities, rather than a diversion of funds meant for other things.
It is possibly true that some expenses we cannot do away with always show up every now and then, but we can plan for emergency funds and miscellaneous funds as well. So that when the need arises, we have some funds to handle any of such expenses.
Purchasing only what is necessary.
Isn't there a lot of stuff flying out there? Bonanza's and flash sales—all of these make everything appealing to us—and it is such a good trap to make one spend above budget. I can only tell you to be careful and purchase only what is necessary.
Food, drinks, and refreshments for visitors. I'm certain that you have some quality outfits you haven't used in a while and can clean them up to avoid spending extra on the highly inflated wear and outfits out there.

Some strategies I had put in place to avoid overspending.
Debt is one thing I hate in my entire life. I hate to owe any man even a single penny; hence, I don't pass my boundary and cut my coat according to my measurements😂.
- Budget for food
Thanks to some harvest from the farm, my food budget has been cut down to some extent; some spices from the market for cooking and a pack of drinks or two will do moreover I will only purchase the drinks that are affordable within my capacity. Why will I purchase Hollandia or Chi-exotic drinks, which are sold at over 1,000 naira to please one visitor? If you aren't satisfied with whatever drink I serve you, you are free to leave🤣🤣😂 I won't go the extra mile to please any visitor at my own expense.
My siblings have raised some birds before this time to provide us with some meat for the festivities. It is cheaper to raise birds than to buy from the market; hence, that has saved me some expenses there too.
Budgets for clothes
I made the simplest budget for clothes you can think of.
Buying clothes from the malls and markets is an expensive adventure right now. A ladies dress can cost as much as $10–15 for a single person. I have about 12–15 people to clothe for Christmas, and that will cost me like $150 if their outfits are to be bought from the market, but I have cut that budget to half, buying fabrics to sew for the ladies and giving a fellow male tailor to sew for the men. This way, I had saved some extra $75.
Budget for Decoration...
A simple decoration that won't cost me more than $5, or at most, I will be purchasing some cheap materials to decorate the house myself using the numerous DIY projects on the hive.
Cheap fun games and Outing.
Spending time with family might be the order of the day for me, we have a large family and if going to the zoo/ cimena and others might cost a lot , watching movies together will be some cheap fun activity to done.
Conclusion
All of these measures have saved me some numerous costs, and like I said, running into debt is never a part of my principles. Regardless of the time, season, and festivities, I also add some contentment and also try not to covet the numerous beautiful things flying around. Hence, the season is never a reason for anyone to run into debt.
Thank you for stopping by.
