Hiii Everyone reading!!
I'm Moyosoluwa Faronbi, a proud native of Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria. I'm a recent graduate of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) with a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Technology ( still in the process tho)
My journey through university wasn't a fast one, I stayed at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic and that lasted for about a year and as if that wasn't enough the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) decided to do their own they went on strike for about 8 months, a year and 8 months of staying at home that sums up to like two academic sessions but then I thank God for the journey
What I Do
I’m a Virtual Assistant, one who is passionate about helping business owners, C.E.O, Head of companies, etc to manage and schedule their daily, weekly and monthly work, meetings and activities so as to help them reduce stress from work. As a Virtual Assistant, I manage communications, schedule tasks, maintain records, handle emails, and offer general admin support. I also handle client relations, I work behind the scenes for my client.
Why I Chose This Path
For a long time, I was the quiet, reserved type of girl being the first child and first daughter of my parents. My parents were really strict with me, my mum especially, I was always very cautious of what I do, how I talk and even the type of friends I keep,so I don't really have friends and I was very shy I also don't know how to relate with people. Most times I'm always on my phone watching movies or surfing the internet then it got to a time that I told myself I have to find something doing,I can't keep depending on my parents and that was in 400 level while I was on IT.
I worked at a food packaging company during my IT and I had a very good experience there,I learnt the way of life in an office environment and it wasn't all that hard to relate with people because most times everyone is always on their own trying to make sure they finish their work before the deadline but then it was so so stressful,I had to wake up by 5 everyday, get to work before 8 and I'm always leaving the office by 7 and because most people know that I'm an IT student I get to do most of the work in the laboratory and in the office..
I thought of it that I'm not cut out for this job the stress and everything that comes with it, so I started thinking of what else to do i had to think of something that is in like with my personality, something that won't really affect my shyness and something that can match my social strength then I chose Virtual assistant. And trust me when I say I'm happy I made that decision because it is something I so much love,I don't have to be there physically I do all my work virtually it is more like the job was created for a very soft person like me, while learning as a virtual assistant I had to take a course on data analysis and I'm glad I did that because I don't have just one thing I'm good at but I have two things I'm really good at.
The learning process was not that easy but it was really enjoyable because most of the tools I had to learn to become a virtual assistant were very interesting and relatable tools. I get to use them for myself apart from using them for my client.
Learning how to balance university life and my professional development wasn't easy especially when I got to my final year wasn't easy, every midnight before I do anything I'm always confused on what to do first, should I read my book or learn another tool to develop my career but then I thank God it all worked out well for me.
@psalmmy264 @starstrings01 introduced me to Hive, I have seen and watched @psalmmy264 write on Hive, engage on Hive and eve join discord meetings. Hearing about Hive from him made it seem so interesting. He mentioned that it is not like the web3 platform I am used to. Said Hive is a web3 platform, a big blockchain. He mentioned that I will find out more once I begin to engage connect and publish here on communities that I find interesting. I am looking forward to connecting to as many like minded individuals as possible. Again, I am Moyosoluwa, a Virtual Assistant.
