Life only just got better with the introduction of robots for everyday home tasks. This invention is one of the many reasons why humans that live in this millennium are said to be happier than their foreparents. I am glad to be born in such a time when everything pertaining to technology is happening and taking a new turn. But are we truly happy? Are we truly happier than our ancestors? I could say the answer falls on both sides. There are advantages and disadvantages of using robots to do house chores.
I like to be associated with advancement. The truth of the matter is that robots have been very advantageous to humans, making life very easy and reducing the level of stress for everyone. This is what we wish for and I think everyone is glad to have such inventions.
I know that robots are machines and can be very efficient when there are no electronic faults but the errors that could be made by robots as a result of the fault could be very damning or highly expensive.
One of the things I feel about using robots is that robots may be expensive to purchase and not everyone would be able to afford it. This is why the popularity of this great invention could be only for the wealthy or those who can afford it.
We should also understand that to maintain the robots could be expensive. This is simply to say that to use robots could be a very expensive venture compared to doing our chores ourselves. One of the reasons why people escape obesity is that they are physically engaged. So, house chores aids you to burn down calories that could add up to turn fats in the human alimentary canal.
I am a product of physical house chores engagement and I strongly support that when it comes to chores like cleaning, washing, cooking and the likes, robots should not replace humans.
Human caregivers have the sympathy, personal touch and emotional concern that robots do not have. This is why I support that house chores like caregiving and cooking should not be left to robots.
Also, when all chores that are meant to be undertaken by humans are now in the hands of robots, what then would humans do in their free time? This great question calls for a quick overview of the fact that laziness on the part of the humans will skyrocket. Already, we have been complaining of lifespan which ces mostly as a result of inactivity. It would only get worse when robots take over the activities that are meant for humans. Going to the movies, or hanging out is such an inactive venture that adds up to the true picture of laziness that robots have created for humans.
I also think that it could be hazardous to engage robots in some kind of house chores that require human judgement. Robots are limited by the operating system or the software that was used to create them. This is why we should not depend on robots because their output cannot be 100% trusted.
When some special robots come with voice recognition and camera capabilities, it could raise concerns about privacy of the user as their data security may not be safe. It would appear that their activities within the home are being monitored.
There is no gainsaying the fact that robots can offer efficiency and convenience in handling certain household chores, it is necessary to be mindful of their limitations and the potential drawbacks of relying too much on technology for everyday tasks.
Robots can be helpful though to do part of the tasks but when we give it all to robots, then one could say that we are threading a dangerous ground.
