A budget is not to restrict what you spend. It is to allow you to spend whatever you please, but on purpose. - Jesse Mecham
Hello guys,
I hope you’re having a great day and also preparing towards the coming holidays. In today’s world , financial freedom plays a crucial role in one’s life. As we earn money, we should also make it a point to spend wisely and also save for rainy days.
The Christmas season is a period where people spend money the most and this is because of the various activities and events taking place wherever we find ourselves. For the youth, I personally think your budget for the festive season will depend on who you are and what you like to do. For some, they like to spend their holidays at shows organised by celebrities and all of that while others like spend some time with their friends and family. Obviously, these two sets of people wouldn’t have the same budget. For married people, the issue is different.
I’ve heard of situations where individuals spend all their money during the Christmas season only to have nothing to survive on in the next month. Others also tend to find themselves in debt just to please others or show off. Today, I want to share some tips with you on how to spend on a budget in the festive season.
Set a budget and make a list
During the Christmas season, we mostly spend money on things than we do normal days. That’s when we think we to need get new clothings, gifts for family and extra food for visitors. In times like this, we should make it a point of duty to draw a realistic budget that could fit our preferences.
Take advantage of Christmas promos
In this season most big shops, supermarkets and malls often run promos for their customers to appreciate them. These things happen once in a while so we should take advantage of it since we will be able to get our goods at a cheaper price.
Save ahead of the new year
Majority of individuals today tend to find themselves wanting after the festive season. Reasons being is that they spend more than they intended, and after everything they realise they have little to no money left for the month of January. I’m sure that as much as we all want to have fun at the end of the year, it is essential to save some money for the new year which will be for our upkeep and to also fix emergencies.
I can understand the anxiety and thirst for luxurious goods amidst festive seasons. But what should be at the top of our priority is the ability to set a scale that complements our values for financial discipline. Do not allow anyone pressure you into things you can’t afford because everyone has his limit. Do not exceed yo ur limit to please others. I hope you enjoyed reading this, thank you for your time.
