I've always admired beautiful spaces, cozy living rooms filled with soft lighting, warm colors, comfy sofas, soft throw pillows, catchy flower vases, and other beautiful elements that make a room cozy, offering people there an opportunity to relax and unwind and feel at home after a stressful day. A kind of interior deco that can magically relieve one of stress at the sight of it…lol
Without thinking hard, if I am told to pick a skill to learn within a month, with all resources duly provided for me, then I would pick interior decoration. I have craved to learn this skill many times, but a lot of things kept dragging me left and right. I can mentally imagine how a plain room can turn into to a mini paradise and design it in my head if money is not an object.
I once had a family friend called and say, Nkem, I just completed building my home. I need a professional interior decorator to creatively do some magic for me. Refer me to to anyone if you have one. Wow, I regretted not have practically learned this then but only swimming in fantasy in my head, lol... I have to call a friend who is fully into it with her staff, and they gave the man just what he wanted with a handsome pay. Without any doubt. I think it would be easy enough for me to master interior deco within a month.
Interior decoration is about creatively making magic with colors, furniture, lighting, and other characters to suit a particular purpose. I think all I need first is to understand what a client want and unleash my creativity to suit that. People need a kind of space to feel calm amidst the chaos in our world today, and I think it can be achieved a bit with interior deco. I am the type that pays attention to details, even with the way I always arrange my throw pillows, choose my curtains to blend with paint colors in my rooms, and the way I usually set up my dining table to look as if we are gathering for an event,hahaha..
Imagine having the right professional to mentor me with the way I have been stuck with interior deco ideas mentally; I think I can catch up so fast. One month might look short, but it's still doable if I am deliberate about it. This means total commitment, no other activities in between, including Hive, lol, just to remain focused and grab the training, both theoretically and practically.
My mentor should be able to get all materials, and maybe we use my home as an experiment, hehehe. This is more like making my dream home come true. People know good things, but money will always be a limitation.
With the practical training I will receive from my coach, I would definitely explore more videos too and get adequate tutorials to add to whatever I am learning practically, maybe explore color patterns, designs, and more, even how to budget (very necessary). Who knows, this might be another side hustle of mine, and life continues.
So, that's it...
Which skill do you think you can learn within one month?
