There are times I've purchased certain products that served me according to their capacity, and I am glad to have utilized the cost of each product. However, I have also made a bad purchase that has led me to regret it. Everyone loves a happy purchase, but things don't always work perfectly as we want them to.
Sometimes, I try to apply wisdom while buying things in the market by carefully checking the details of the product before making a final selection. In as much as it can help sometimes in securing a good product, this tactic isn't still guaranteed, and sometimes I am in a hurry to quickly pay and leave, then later, it could lead to dissatisfaction or even luck.
One of the reasons why I make use of offline shopping more than online shopping is for me to totally examine a particular product prior to making my decision. No one derives joy from wasting money on products that do not last. Even with this tactic, I still get disappointed most times with my purchases. Another thing I don't joke with while planning to make a purchase that costs a reasonable amount of money is asking people who have used the product. This idea seems to work well for me, but unfortunately not for all the products I have purchased so far.
Take a look at this image above; you will see a chain and a power bank. The necklace happened to be a good purchase here, while the Oraimo power bank was a bad purchase, and I will tell you why.
I got the necklace eight years ago when I was going for the child dedication of my first son. Funny enough, the necklace doesn't cost much, but its durability baffles me. I remember a friend telling me to buy a gold necklace instead of steel because of its durability and aesthetics, but I couldn't afford to buy a gold necklace. I decided to go for the one I could afford, but I made sure to make an inquiry about other products aside from gold, which can also last and look good. At last, I bought this necklace for #3,000, whereas the gold version of it cost about #75,000. I saved myself a lot of money by purchasing something more affordable but nice. I couldn't believe that the necklace has such lengthy durability given how often I use it. The only thing is that I try to maintain it according to the instructions of the seller, and since 8 years ago, I have been enjoying this particular product.
Then the Oraimo power bank; @olujay has made some reviews about Oraimo products, and the way he patronizes this company, he should be one of the company's ambassadors. No doubt, Oraimo products are nice; a lot of people say good things about their products. I have also used one of their products that lasted very well for me, but their products are always on the high side, but quality anyway. Due to light issues in Nigeria, I was forced to get a power bank to avoid interference with my online activities. I asked a few of my friends, and they advised that I go for Oraimo products. This happened to be a bad purchase, as I spent $35 buying the power bank that ended up being irrelevant just after one month. This power bank didn't fall to the ground, nor did it enter water; it just suddenly stopped charging my phone. As I type, it's still charged at 99% but cannot charge my phone. It was painful losing such money just within one month of purchase, and sadly, I didn't check for the warranty before purchasing the product.
Lesson learned
From both experiences, I learned that paying attention to details while making a purchase can help in making a good choice to a greater extent. Also, buying a product with a warranty seems better in the case of inferior products to create room for replacement.
Thanks for reading through!
Until next time, stay positive 🤗
