Permit me to take you back to my childhood stage, the stage devoid of worries or the stress associated with life. My earliest memories with activities served as a foundation for a part of whom I am today. Childhood was not boring at all with my twin brother by my side because we brainstorm (with our little brain then..lolz), execute plans and carry it out successfully.
The presence of my twin brother by my side always taught me teamwork as of then. Of course, two heads are better than one π, only if we were putting heads together for something reasonable then ... hehehehehe.
When I was a child
My parents are these strict, disciplined, and loving beings. It's lovely to stay with them always but be sure to dance to their tune, otherwise, you will always be serving one punishment or the other. My Dad was a man that doesn't joke with his Christianity, he was well known in the church as a devoted Christian and was well known in the community as a good and kind man, always helping people even when he has little. So that same commitment he had in church was what he want for us his children to have. It was like by force π, as in, we have no choice but to follow the same pattern, the same standard he has set.
He started at home to nurture my siblings and me into studying the scripture every night and morning. Not only will you read and pray but you read the bible and explain your understanding to every member of the family. Hmmm, what real work in my mind...it was always a lengthy family devotion and I wished I can just disappear each time they start....lolz.
It continued that way and at some point, I became so used to it and stopped seeing it as work. Not long time, my Dad made my twin brother and I join the children's ministry in the church. I loved every activity there. It was one of the nicest activities I participated in as a child because my performances in the church announced me positively.
So there with other children, we were always studying the scripture to represent the church for the bible quiz competition. We became so conversant with many stories in the bible as well as verses and chapters of notable things. There was no competition I represented that I didn't win. Talk about so many events in the church, like father's day, mothers day, children's day, harvest, and others, we children always make a Bible recitation in front of the whole church. The Bible readings in the church were usually us that take it in the whole congregation. I would be given almost two pages of the bible to rehearse for a Bible reading but I will go home and memorize the whole verses and instead of reading directly from the bible, I will choose to read it off head π. I was not calming down, I was so enthusiastic to do all of that... lolz
My continuous presentation to the whole church enhanced my communication skill. I could face thousands of people to make a presentation without tension. It made me very bold to speak out wherever I am.
The fact that I am outspoken today, all started with my activities as a child. I have faced huge populations during my presentations in the church then, even during my project defense and seminar presentation back then in the university, I faced the panel of judges boldly unlike some people then who couldn't. Many people say that I am sociable... that's right...I easily associate with people and it all started as a child, there were children from different backgrounds who comes together and we all learned together from each other.
Aside from my active performances in the church then, I also joined the children's dance group (social gathering). It was another activity as a child I cherished so much. Unfortunately, I don't dance again now as an adult....at this point, I wish to go back to my childhood stage πβΊοΈ
