Hello everyone, how are you? Talking about human nature might be very long. But I believe that the environment shapes human nature. Starting from the immediate environment, it shapes character. Speaking of character, can even parents' genes be passed on to their children? So, what about the trait of corruption? We'll discuss that later.
For me, the family is the first place humans develop, where humans learn about love and affection. Therefore, the family also shapes human nature. Then, the school environment, friendships, and other things develop. These can shape human nature.
I believe that all humans have a basic white nature, or what can be interpreted as good. Then, contaminated by ego, emotional wounds, and trauma, this basic nature is obscured. Wounds, ego, and trauma can change a person, for better or worse. So, we need to learn how to let go of all of these things.
Fundamentally, we all possess pure, boundless love. This is also built and formed at home or in the family. If the family values are good, it has a strong foundation. However, if the home harbors trauma and wounds, the child will seek other values outside and develop new character.
I really like children whose role models are their parents. As a result, they no longer look to others for guidance in growing up. If a child doesn't have role models in their family environment, they will seek out substitute parents. And that can be quite detrimental.
And, in any case, I strongly believe that the family is a space for humans, or a foundation for children to grow and develop. I also want to add to the opinions of several experts who say that human nature is inherently good, as expressed by Jean-Jacques Rousseau. Both of them stated that human nature is fundamentally good, full of compassion and empathy.
However, civilization, wealth, and social inequality change humans. Jean also notes that humans need to be close to nature and not be constrained by the system, so that their good qualities will emerge continuously and naturally. Furthermore, I also agree with Abraham Maslow's theory of the hierarchy of needs.
The first human needs that need to be met are food, sleep, and safety, then they move up to love, self-esteem, and self-actualization. If basic needs are met, then other basic needs must be met as well. Therefore, humans fundamentally choose to be good or positive. And humans always want to grow and become better, and so do children.
That's what I've always believed. We need to see the spread of kindness, which is a fundamental human trait. Perhaps that's all I want to share. What do you think? See you in the next story.
