My Journey To Become Moderate |
---|
I titled my topic "Journey to become moderate" because at one time in my life, I was confused on the kind of body I was developing, and I could remember seeking ways to develop a moderate body (neither overweight or underweight).
We all might have our own personal journeys when it comes to weight management. Over the years, mine has been a yo-yo of gaining and losing weight. I have learned many lessonss along the way. So I will be sharing my story and the lesson learned.
Growing up, I was always skinny, and It wasn't something that I consciously worked towards, as it was just my natural body type. However, as I got older and started to learn more about fitness and health, I started to feel like I was missing out on something, lol.
Everywhere I looked, people were talking about the benefits of being a certain weight or having a certain body type. They talked about how being bigger or stronger made them feel more confident, more powerful, and more in control.

And while I had always been happy with my body, I couldn't help but feel like I was missing out on something. So, I decided to gain weight. I wanted to see what it felt like to be bigger, stronger, and more confident in my own skin. I wanted to see what it felt like to have a body that was powerful and capable.
At first, it was difficult because I had never really paid much attention to my diet or exercise routine before, so I started by increasing my calorie intake and incorporating weight training into my fitness routine. I also began eating more calorie-dense foods like nuts, avocados, and healthy fats.
I could remember focusing more on my stuffs and exercise that would help broaden my chest. It eventually paid off, because I started to discover some changes on my body.
Many people who had'nt seen me for a long time were shocked when they now saw me after the change in body statue. I initially barely noticed I was actually adding weight until most of myy clothes weren't seizing me again.
However, over time, I began to realize that being bigger and stronger wasn't all it was cracked up to be. I found that I didn't like the way it made me feel all the time, and that it was actually more difficult to maintain than I had anticipated.
I felt sluggish and lacked energy, as my skin was breaking out more, and I wasn’t sleeping as well at night. I realized that I was sacrificing my overall health in pursuit of a certain body type.
So, I decided to make another change, lol. I decided to lose the weight that I had gained and return to my natural body type.
First and foremost, I focused on making healthier food choices, as I could remember cutting back on processed foods, sugary drinks, and snacks, and instead opted for more whole foods like fruits, vegetables, and proteins.

I also made sure to track my calories and macros to ensure I was eating enough but not too much. Next most important step was I added regular exercise into my routine.
I started with 30-minute walks around my neighborhood and eventually worked up to 45-minute runs. I also added in weightlifting and other forms of strength training to build muscle and increase my metabolism.

Throughout the process, I kept myself motivated by setting small, achievable goals. Whether it was running for five more minutes or adding an extra vegetable to my meals, every little success kept me motivated and moving forward.
There were days when I wanted to give up, days when I indulged in unhealthy foods, and days when I didn't feel like working out. But through it all, I kept reminding myself why I started and that every small step forward was progress.
In the end, I lost about 30 pounds and felt like a completely different person. Not only did I feel better physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. I had more confidence, energy, and self-love than ever before.
My journey with weight gain and loss has taught me some important lessons about my body, my health, and my mindset. It made me see the importance of balance, self-care, and persistence.

Firstly, I realized that the number on the scale doesn't define who I really am. It's easy to get obsessed with reaching a certain weight or size, but what's more important is how I feel in my own skin and whether or not I'm taking care of myself properly.
Secondly, I learned that crash diets and extreme weight loss methods don't work. While I did lose weight quickly, I also lost muscle mass and my energy levels plummeted. Sustainable weight loss comes from making healthy choices consistently, not just for a short period of time.
I also discovered the power of exercise and movement, and how Incorporating regular workouts into my routine helped me feel stronger, more confident, and more in control of my body.
Finally, I realized that it's okay to ask for help. I couldn't have achieved my weight loss goals without the support of my friends, family, and a healthcare professional. Don't be afraid to reach out to others for advice, encouragement, and accountability.

After going on my own journey of weight loss and gain, I have realized to prioritize my health over my appearance. This journey taught me valuable lessons about myself, my health, and my relationship with food.
