Life is a very interesting place where interesting things happen. Some of the happenings can be in our favor while some can threaten our very existence. Nonetheless, irrespective of how stressful something can be, or how tired we are or how emotionally down we are, we still find a reason to keep pushing.
according to one song i heard some time ago, the lyrics said adulthood na scam. Meaning that adulthood is a scam. For a hardworking adult that hopes to build a good path for themselves, adulthood can be a hell of a ride. This is why some adults wish to be children again. Its actually ironic because when we were kids, we hoped to grow fast so that we can be free, but then, when we became adults, some of us are hoping to go back to go back to being children.
The journey of life is one where breaks are limited. Taking a break is at you own risk, but then, that doesn't mean we should keep hustling all year without having to rest, at least for a few days or even weeks. This post is an entry to hive learners prompt, GAP YEAR. I will write on what i think about having a gap year.
In life, we face diverse type of challenges. Sometimes we win, while some times we loss. Our hustle seems like it knows no end until we face the inevitable. Even when sick, some of us don't know what it means to rest because if we take a rest, we may not have enough to feed with. Most people are both hard workers and smart workers.
At times, what we really need is a day off. Just go far away from all the hardships, the drama and everything to a far land where we will get enough rest and think straight.
From my point of view, having a gap year to rest is not a bad thing. Most times, all we need to keep going is rest and when we dont get the desired rest, we will not be able to function at full capacity.
I am a very busy person. Most times, I wake up very early in the morning and come back very late in the night. Before i will finish everything i'm doing, its already morning. Sometimes i sleep by 1 or 2 am to wake up by 6 or 7am. Roughly 6 hours sleep. Most times, this sleep is not a quality one.
For the past few months, all i can think of is getting some rest. If i had a gap year, i would be very happy because i could rest a lot during the break. One thing i have come to understand is that, Sometimes, rest is all you need in other to figure out a solution for a given problem.
I may be facing a serious problem that needs a solution but at that moment, I can actually think of any thing. However, if i get some time to rest, I would think of that solution without breaking a sweat.
I don't see a gap yar as procrastination or something, but i think its a well deserved resting period for workers or students to recharge for the next phase of whatever they are doing.
Thank you.
