Hello, everyone.
designed on canva.
Welcome to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learners' featured post. No doubt, we all have the desire to own a thing or two, but there are some limitations that hinder us from getting that which we desire. Money, they say, solves at least 90% of human problems, so most times what's stopping us from getting what we desire is the lack of funds to do so. While sometimes we desire something even money cannot offer us.
A friend who suffers from sickle cell disease desires good health with no complications, but despite her family's wealth, that desire cannot be granted. So this alone proves that money is not everything; sometimes we desire what money cannot offer. There are so many things I wish to get but cannot afford at the moment. Sometimes I wish I could just pack up my bag and travel out of the country for a vacation or just a few weeks away from home, but since I cannot afford such, I'd wait and hope that someday it will happen.
One thing I cannot afford right now but is of utmost importance to my family and me is a house of our own. We live in a rented house, and every day you see reasons why you should own a house of your own. The landlord lives next door, and every day they give you instructions on how to walk up and down the stairs. They talk to people who came to visit like they came to beg.
Every day it's from one Nollywood drama to another; his wife rants about everything, can't talk to you calmly, and makes it look like they are doing you a favor by letting us live there. It's not like it's free of charge, but they are making it look like it's at their mercy that we have a roof over our heads.
Each time I watch this drama unfold, I wish my parents were rich and financially buoyant enough so we could actually have a house in the village and in the city where we live. I have seen people buy houses in the city and in the village, but since the funds to do so are not there, we are left with no choice but to go for a rented apartment. It hurts to see things turn out this way.
The drama with the landlord and his wife Is becoming an everyday thing, hindering peace of mind in an apartment we paid for; they are making the place uncomfortable, and the drama is becoming unbearable.
My dad might not say it out loud, but it's obvious it's actually killing him on the inside. You always hear him say his fellow man is talking to him like a baby, all because of the apartment he paid for and was not even given for free. It really does hurt a lot, and I just wish things were different and I could have a house of my own where they could move in and have a roof over their heads and peace of mind with no one to tell them how things ought to be done.
Thanks for reading my post.
