We are in December, we all know December is a Month filled with some special Events and Holidays.
Many people Celebrate Christmas, Boxing Day and The New year Eve celebration. In This festive periods there are some places that are great to be for celebration and Recreation.
People From different parts of the country travel with their family to visit their Homes, to see their love ones and Pals.
In Nigeria Here, there is a term "Detty December" lol.
Detty December is a term used by Nigerian to mean a Time in December where Nigerian gather together to enjoy a host of Events, carnivals, party, concerts to Celebrate the End of The Year.
After Detty December, people run into debt, and entering the new year, the month of January and February become very difficult and Things get so hard because of Debt gotten through reckless spending.
I believe one of the main reason for running into debt after December celebration is lack of Budgeting and important Financial Decisions or Decision.
Overspending is always rampant.
Here is How I would spend my December.
Strict Budgeting
Hehe strict budget sounds very funny but, that's just literally what it is, my Budget would be strictly worked on, No Overspending or Any extra miscellaneous.
All through this December: I planned to Spend #100,000 (One Hundred Thousand Naira Only). To Many people this might be relatively High but there are a lot of expenses included.
Transportation Cost:
I plan to travel home around 24th of December. Transport fare from Benue state to Lagos is around #16,000 (sisteen thousand Naira only) To and Fro will be #32,000(Thirty two thousand Naira Only).
I intend to visit My Friends in Epe Lagos that would cost #7000 (Seven thousand naira) To and Fro.
Movement within the Town will be budgeted at #5,000 (Five Thousand Naira Only).
Total Cost of Transportation is #44,000 (Forty Four Thousand naira only)
Gifting My Family and Friends:
I plan to buy my parents, gift and Cash worth #25,000 (Twenty five thousand Naira only)
I will give the last born of the family #5,000 ( Five Thousand naira only). Then My Friends if #6,000 (six thousand Naira.
Flexing and Miscellaneous:
The total of Money budgeted for extra celebration, emergency spending or other expenses would be #20,000 (Twenty Thousand Naira Only)
The goal for My Budgeting is not go above the scheduled #100,000 funds for December. But spending below budget is permitted.
Measures that would be taken to ensure there won't be over spending
I intend to lock up every other funds in a savings app like piggy Vest, , i will set the time of Withdrawal to be like middle of January or First day of February 2024.
My Budgeted amount of #100,000 would be split into two, #50,000 will be in a special account, and that have Hard Cash of #50,000 (Fifty thousand Naira Only) would be at hand. Because of the limited Amount of funds with me, i wont be tempted to spend any thing extra
I won't be Traveling to other places apart from the Stated addresses listed for visitation.
There is a saying that says > cut your clothe According to your Size 😂
I would be very minimal in spending. Mostly I would be with family and friends and i won't be buying unnecessary stuffs.
