Greetings, friends!
Yes, a lot of people like exploring the services operated by the government due to its flexibility and reliability in the school, power, and health sectors. While the private might not be as reliable as that if the government services.
Let me start with the government hospitals and private hospitals that I have had an experience with.
In the government sector like hospitals, you will see a lot of sick people in different wards due to their state of illness that has been allocated to them to receive their treatment, some of the patients in federal government hospitals receive help from the government, that's the government are the ones paying their bills for the treatment, and it might be detrimental to them if the government do not give a quick response, the doctors in the hospital will neglect them because the government hasn't shown up yet for their payment to attend to patients. On the other hand, hospital bills charged by the patient might not be as high as those of private hospitals.
However, some nurses and doctors in government hospitals are wicked to behold. Could you imagine how a sick patient was rushed to the hospital for urgent attention, and the nurses and doctors were still balancing in their seats, enjoying themselves? I witnessed this incident with my two eyes while I was with my aunt's child in the teaching hospital in Akwa Ibom State. I saw a whole lot of things done by the nurses that were irritating me. Some patients that were rushed in, died on the hospital bed. An emergency rushed, and they had to buy and for everything before attending to the patient, someone in a dying state? No-no. Some nurses and doctors need to be sacked or fired from their being nurses and doctors. Some of them are naturally wicked adding their evils to the patient instead of saving lives.
My experience and encounters in the private hospital sector. My extended aunt who came to visit us last year, later became sick while on her visitation. So, my extended uncle heard of the sickness and had to send money to rush her to the hospital. She is asthmatic and in medical terms, it's called tachypneic. So her children took her to a private hospital, and immediately we reached the hospital, the doctor and the nurses gave her adequate attention by fixing nasal cannulation for delivering oxygen before registering her name. It was so severe. The doctors prescribed drugs for her and gave her the necessary injections for her to be fine. The doctors told the children that they would sleep over for other injections in the night. They finally agreed to stay over in the hospital. The day breaks and the bills of the first day of the night till morning were exorbitant; the bill was over two hundred and forty-six thousand naira (246,000) just for one night, and the drugs and drips accounted for this amount. What if it was 3 nights, it would have reached 700k. This is a private hospital.
Therefore, experiencing the perks and downsides of both sides is good because it would help me go for the preference.
My preference is the government or federal hospital because the equipment is available for treatment, and the government can support it, too, but the delay that comes with it used to be annoying.
These are my experiences with both sides. I can relate and I can share.
