Hey, welcome to weekly featured content, week 129 edition 02.
The question goes
In A Drunken State
Have you ever done something crazy when drunk? It could be you, or a close friend or relative. Did you get in trouble or hurt due to your drunken antics? Is it an experience you wish to repeat itself or something you would never try again? Please share with us.
Have I ever done something crazy when drunk?
This question is funny somehow to someone who has never tasted alcohol or experienced the effects of alcohol. Since I have not experienced this before, so I would talk about a close friend who has done something crazy when drunk.
I don't take alcohol. My siblings and my mum don't take alcoholic drinks, but my dad used to take as much as he could, different ones, palm wine, any drink that contains alcohol, he is very comfortable with it.
There is nothing wrong with alcoholic drinks but how we take them. If they take it in a small amount, it won't intoxicate or alter their body system. But we find ourselves in an environment where young and old people are using alcoholic drinks as their breakfast, lunch, and dinner which is not healthy for the body. And one thing, that causes people to get intoxicated with alcohol is addiction. This uncontrollable attitude has ruined relationships, responsibilities, and overall well-being. It's very rampant in our society and education is required that will bring light to our part.
My closest friend's experience
I was shocked to witness my closest friend, who happened to be a victim of alcoholic intoxication, and the effects dealt with him badly, to the point everyone in the house was scared for his life. He came back home abusing everyone in the house, talking to people anyhow, and behaving like someone who has a mental disorder. He rejected food, he refused to bathe, and he was 100% irresponsible and tattered. Fortunately, he vomited some of the alcohol, and the effect of it reduced, and he was calm a bit. After the effect had reduced, he came back to his normal senses and looked for food to eat 😂😂😂. The effects caused him to be hungry and he was. The wife had to pity him and prepare food for him to eat.
One week later, he behaved like a father, a responsible man, going to work and taking care of himself and his family. So I was bold enough to talk to him. I approached with respect and humility and won his heart. He assured me that he would not drink excessive alcohol.
However, despite my conversation with him, he went to the bar to drink again, and the effects and behaviors recurred
This experience taught me that addiction is a very powerful and destructive weapon for destroying lives. If we are into a habit that we can't control it might ruin us.
Alcohol intoxication in humans misleads and always leaves an incurable mark in the future. I heard of a man who died of kidney failure due to excessive alcohol consumption. His kidney failed, condemned because of the side effects of alcohol. It is related to cigarettes. On the pack of cigarettes, it is written, "Smokers are liable to die young" and many ignore this instruction and follow suit. This is the right time to address these issues so they won't affect our business generation.
Parents should put a stop, and the government should ban this illicit food from being sold.
