Hello,
In a week, there are 7 days. Out of these, 5 days are designated as workdays, while two days are set aside for relaxation, fun, and spending time with our loved ones. This time allows us to recharge before returning to our tasks.
However, some people end up working for all 7 days without having time for their families and other important activities. Let me use the analogy of working from home and being made to go to school every day, attending lectures, assignments, and other school activities, and returning home. I'm already exhausted, and there is no time for rest. Most of these activities come with stress, and it can hurt our well-being.
So having shorter days at the office but longer hours as well will affect our priority in the sense that it won't make us responsible. The system of 5 days has been established, and our mindset and our body systems adapted to those arrangements.
I didn't know that bankers work from morning to night until I heard and read from others. I have an aunt who is married with two children. My aunt studied accounting at the university. She hunted for a job as a banker, and fortunately for her, she found one. She started working from morning to night, five days every week; her husband was getting tired of her job and told her to resign because of the kids, so she could take care of them. However, I had a second thought that she used to call somewhere for something unfruitful. I didn't know it was the nature of work. The husband had to open a kiosk or mini shop for her to do her business. Thank God she adhered to the voice of her husband; now the business is booming and expanding. She can stay in the comfort of her home and take full responsibility for her children.
Working days for some married people are always a problem depending on the hours they spend and other activities they get engaged in.
Many people have always been longing for extra free days for themselves and some would be, if I can make money without stress, they are free to go. In the government sector for civil servants, some go on a sabbatical for a month and resume the next month to be fully charged.
Incorporating 4 working days with longer hours and 5 days with shorter hours has its pros and cons. The economic situation of our country wouldn't permit some people to take a rest; some are working in places just to get paid to survive.
I settled with 5 working days as our routine or ritual to set our minds correctly and fit into each day of the working days. Therefore, the system was established, and nothing can change it unless the system changes; that's when everything will be affected, and there will be adaptation toward that. If it changes to 4 days, it would be for our good and we would have enough rest on the weekends.
