I have learned and unlearned that in no time I will have the confidence to bring in new users knowing I will be able to guide them well.
In the course of this program, aside from learning what hive blockchain is, it has also served as my open door to blessings in terms of connections and friends.

There was a meeting on Sunday as usual, and the topic of the discussion was Building Hive Connections.
The various means by which we can make proper connections with fellow hivers were discussed extensively. We all know that building connections is one of the best ways to succeed. No man is an island, we need each other to achieve greater success.
The host speaker was in the person of @depressedfuckup and our bosses @starstrings01 , @nkemakonam89 , and @vickoly were also there to explain to us the benefit of building good connections in Hive.
So without wasting much time, I will share what I learned by answering the following questions.
Ever since I realized the benefits of having friends, knowing people, or people recognizing my name whenever I show up. I had dedicated some of my time to exploring different communities not only to drop my post there but to also interact with the people there.
Hive is a blogging platform. We write and make vlogs for people to see, have fun, or maybe learn something from it. What will happen if we write and make vlogs every day and get ignored? Nobody said he likes what he reads, or he can relate to the experiences we shared.
We will get discouraged and lose motivation.
So the very first and most simple way of making connections on hive is by:
commenting on other author's posts, especially those authors sharing the same passion as us.
This will get them to notice us and maybe stop by our post too someday.
Nkemakonam really emphasized the comment topic. She told us that it is very important that our comment is a quality one, the one that tells the writer that you spared some time reading through his work and understood what he wrote.
Too short of a comment is considered spamming. Yes! Saying something like “nice post, good work, interesting”, etc explain that you didn't read the post and that you are just writing that for comment's sake.
A good comment should contain one or two of what you understand from reading the post.
If we want to get noticed, then let's be noticed for something good.
I have made so many friends by making meaningful comments on their posts. I wouldn't like to mention their names.

Here is my recent notification from Hive Buzz on comments.
Interacting in Discord Channel:
Another way we can build a strong hive connection is by interacting in the discord channel. Almost every community on Hive has a Discord channel. In that discord channel, there is a general chat page, where we can interact with other members of the community.
@depressedfuckup took his time to make us understand that hive is broad and filled with several authors. There are so many posts a day in a community that one may likely not noticed yours. There are so many people commenting and writing and as a newbie, there's a high chance of getting lost or should I say becoming invisible.
So in Discord, people get to chat a lot, just like some WhatsApp group chat.
Also, some communities like Hive Learners, hivenaija, and Hiveghana organize some important live discussion shows where anyone is eligible to join.
Chatting in the general chat and joining these shows will open us to connecting with the right people.
I am a testimony to making friends through this method.
Microblogging:
Another way we can make strong connections is by interacting on various front-end threads. Ecency and Inleo front has a threading feature where we get to interact and share our experiences by writing short content. I have made so many friends and even got good upvotes through making waves on ecency and threads on Inleo.
Establishing a program:
Bringing new ideas to the blockchain was discussed as one of the great way to building connections. The founder of the newbie initiative and Hiveghana borehole was used as an example.
People will connect with you if they know that you are a person of value and ideas.
Helping people when they are in trouble and sharing ideas is also a way of building connections in hive.
Here are my meaningful comments and replies.

Less I forget, joining town hall space can also be a way of making good connections with hive pros.
Here is my comment and replies from one of the town hall space I joined. I received four good replies to this comment.

I also talked about making threads on Inleo, here is one of my comments to someone’s thread and the replies that follow.

This beautiful author even ended up following me and I followed her back🤗.
The difference between these two types of comments is that the former will open the door for discussion and interaction while the latter will likely get ignored.
Commenting “Nice post” leaves the author with no other option but to scroll past your comment or reply with “thanks”.
Everybody knows the post is nice, even the author knows. Writing out what makes you think the post is nice is what makes a detailed comment.
What I want to start doing now is making more comments and threads.
Sometimes I feel so exhausted after lectures that I couldn't write a post. So I will use moments like that to make comments and threads, build good connections, and make friends.
Bringing new users to the hive is also a means of building your circle of connections, you understand something like a family tree. I’ll be excited to have children, grandchildren, and even cousins in hive.
So I’m planning on bringing in new users that will contribute positively to Hive.
Thank you so much for reading, I appreciate your support.
