Princess broke a rule yesterday.

Well, I did break a rule but it wasn't intentional and besides, I wasn't informed before and I only got to know about it yesterday. But some would still criticise and say, "at least when you arrived there, you saw it vividly and you couldn't leave instead of violating the rule on purpose."
The last time we had light was on Tuesday evening when my phone, pc and power bank were fully charged. I had used both my phone and pc to engage online, watch movies and do other things while entertaining myself with the hope they would bring it back the next morning but Nepa decided to disappoint us. It was like a joke to us as they refused to bring it all through Thursday and thanks to my power bank which was my lifesaver. I couldn't enjoy doing things on my phone because using my pc is always faster to navigate through especially when you have to open many browsers while doing things at a time.
My power bank was still serving me but I was feeling uncomfortable not seeing light at all. The heat nowadays is intense and one would think an angel switched the sun on angrily and decided to punish us. The heat is just too much and with this, I have been naked in my room while still using my hand fan to blow some breeze. With this uncomfortable feeling, everything became boring and was already feeling upset about the situation. Everyone started complaining and assuming that there was a fault. Even if there is, they should fix it for us on time.
My power bank was going down, and calculating the remaining power, it wouldn't sustain me to do what I needed to do. I had to start minimizing my activities and preserving the life of my phone and battery. That was how we managed until yesterday.
I woke up to do my chores on time while making plans to go out to charge with money because no one knew when the light would be restored. I had thought to wait till Saturday evening when I would be going for workers meeting so I could charge in church but I don't want to stay that long, otherwise, I might not be able to make a post or engage as I wanted to. I asked for the place where they were charging with money and while doing that, a guy said there was light in the school where I finished. I felt reluctant at first but when I realised I would be at a loss if I did not go to charge for free rather than paying money I could have used for something else.
I dressed up quickly, packed my gadget into my bag and headed for school. There is my usual spot where I charge; there is the first girl's hostel on entering the school compound and everyone mostly uses their kitchen to charge as enough sockets are being fixed there except if you have someone who stays in the hostel which you could give your stuff to help you charge and that would be safer, but if one is using the kitchen, you must be ready to stay with your things until they are fully charged.
I got there and while trying to fix my extension socket into the wall, I looked up and saw an instruction hung on the wall and it said, "no stranger or outsiders should come into the kitchen to either charge, read or sleep." The kitchen is also used by students to read when the exam is approaching and with this, many of them have taken advantage of sleeping there. Recently, there have been cases of phones being stolen and this is due to some students who came to charge and would leave their phones to go somewhere else, so, they decided to ban everyone from charging. I never knew all of these until yesterday.
For someone like me who was desperate to charge knowing the situation at home, I waited and ignored the rule while charging my stuff. A few minutes later, a lady who came to charge too had to leave as she was afraid of what might happen. I asked her why she was leaving so early knowing that her phone wasn't charged enough, she said the hostel security woman who made the rule was not around and that is why we could come in freely and once she returned and met people charging, she would seize everything. I became scared a little but in my mind, was praying the woman would stay longer wherever she was so that my phone and other things would get charged if not fully charged. The lady left while I was remaining in the kitchen.
My mind wasn't settled as my eyes kept going to where the note was hung and repeatedly reading the rule made me guilty and knew if the woman saw me there, there wouldn't be an excuse for me and also that I could see the rule, it then means I violated it and should face the repercussion. Fortunately for me, I spent over 3 hours there and my gadgets were fully charged, till I left there, the woman never showed up. I decided not to branch into the same hostel again when next I came because I asked if the same rules apply to other hostels around the school and they said no.
I returned home happily knowing I would use my phone and watch some pending movies. But later in the evening, they restored our light and everywhere became lively again. I was more than excited because of this as I wouldn't have to go back to school to charge.
Thanks for your time on my blog.
