I know many of us are true believers of Hive and want to see the growth of the blockchain. Thank God for the Hive Zealy Campaign that has started for a while now to market the blockchain and bring more people on board. I already have the belief that in the coming years, Hive would be better than any other Web 2 platform out there; platforms like Fiverr, Upwork, Medium and other blogging platforms. But there are still more upgrades to be put into place to make it happen.
One of the important features on this chain is the issue of security which we have been listening to and talking about. The need for one to protect and keep their generated keys safe is crucial if one wants to continue operating on their accounts. Imagine having lots of tokens in your wallet and because of a lack of carelessness or ignorance release your keys to someone who successfully scammed you. There is no way to recover your account back except if you open a new one which wouldn't be fine with you. The worst is to leave the platform because you feel you cannot start from scratch.
That aside, I wouldn't want to keep mentioning security issues again but something similar I believe would benefit many users including myself. Every time, we see new updates and features on the blockchain, all thanks to our hardworking developers behind the scenes who are working tirelessly to make the interface easier and fascinating to navigate through.
Hive needs a full-bodied system for verifying users and content to prevent misinformation and scams.

There was a time when I noticed a suspicious account which was new on the blockchain. This lady was posting a few posts of herself and explaining her net worth outside the chain and one would wonder, if she spends such an amount of money, what does she need Hive for again? She was always flaunting the amount she bought her outfits, wigs etc. Unknowingly, she was a scammer who scammed a user here where she and another user went away with the victim's token and this was due to a leak of the victim's Hive keys. It was a heated discussion on this day on Discord and everyone was careful and alert not to carelessly release their keys.
So, for this upgrade, there should be a way Hive would verify users who are just coming in. The verification would be based on the following points;
A user's identity would be verified using their official documents like the ones issued to them by the government, i.e, National Identity Number (NIN) or any ID or biometrics. This would help to know the real and fake ones among them. Also, verifying the user's account would help to prevent fake or duplicate accounts except for the ones that create an alt for different purposes.
I guess this has already been implemented on Hive but would still talk about it. The issue of the user's location being verified by using IP addresses. This would stop users from impersonation and creating multiple accounts from the same location.
User's activities should be verified too. Every user should be tracked by analysing their interactions and behaviours on the blockchain. With this method, suspicious accounts and fraudulent activities would be flagged, and also, it would be easy to prevent those who are trying to manipulate or game the system for their selfish financial gain.
Lastly, I would add that content should also be verified to confirm facts and also bring down immediately any article that tries to mislead other people on the platform because everyone needs to consume content that is beneficial and filled with knowledge, but in a situation where some users would want to post misleading content that isn't conforming to Hive rules, it would be easier to flag them down while promoting informative and trustworthy content to be digested online.
Thanks for your time on my blog.
