ABUSING PHOTOGRAPHY
Photo editing apps has completely transformed some people especially on social media platforms like facebook and Instagrams, making people to live fake lives other than their original lives. No doubt that photo editing is quite necessary in cinematography or photography but i believe the excessive use or abuse of it should be looked out to. What do i mean by abuse or excessiveness?
They are times you take a particular picture and you feel like certain features are missing from it, that is when photo editing comes into play in other to correct your photography. But when you begin to manipulate the photography bringing in what isn't there or trying to deceive the audience to believe what isn't real then i call that an abuse. Let me share with you a little experience of mine with an online influencer i met some time ago.
I had a female friend of mine on the blue app called facebook, she was a photo freak who post pictures of herself almost every 24 hrs and with different outfits because she works in a boutique. There is a trending pose our ladies pose now a day(s) puffing their butts out at the camera man or phone while taking pictures.
Im sure some of us musy have been familiar with this posture because it's a trend.
She always has nice curves on her and a portable hips, of course this is what most people want to waste their data seeing online. She does get a lot of reactions and comments on a single picture of herself exposing these curves on camera and she really looked adorable no doubt until my friend finally took me to the boutique and i finally set my eyes on the social media influencer and found out all she always did online was nothing but a fake life.
She was very slim and with a pretty flat butt, no hips at all then my friend began to ask me in front of her if she really looks like her pictures online. I couldn't even lie and said no way that she doesn't look like the pictures she brings online. But she insisted that she is the one, i had to just keep quiet and pretend like i was okay because it was so embarrassing when i found out she used an app called sweet selfie to tune in some filters and make ungodly adjustments to her body shape deceiving people online that shes one thick babe mean while what we saw was just a ruler from a mathematical set.
When i got home that day, i had to revisit her blogs and go through all her pictures carefully, that is when i saw the editing she always applied to her hips, butt and chests that gives her those sexy looks.
I was so pained and embarrassed to find out all this was just a fake life on social media, deceiving the audience and making them believe you are what you never were.
Photoshop and other various photo editing apps are really doing a great and exclusive job especially when you need to enhance your photography but we should always be happy to embrace ourselves how we look rather than cooking our pictures to look delicious by adding fake features that doesn't appear on our physical selves.
Over all i would say that adding just filters to a photo is just nothing as it does enhance looks but editing to a point of deceiving people from your original self can be a taboo.
