You definitely might be wondering what Obleeee is. Well, it's a slang that has been trending in Nigeria since this festive period began and it literally means spending a lot of money on something like clothes, food and drinks, a party or living an expensive lifestyle just for the moment.
I kid you not, there is money where there is money. I know that the economy of nations is not so good but people are spending so much for Christmas. I understand that the season ought to be enjoyed to the fullest and have a long lasting memory but I am still surprised that some people could spend so much; I mean we are all complaining about the hike in prices of goods and services but where did y'all see this moneeeey😂.
It is very easy to get carried away with spendings this season because people are buying and spending left and right and you always want these things. You can't keep your eyes of them, it's either you see them online or around you. I was indoor throughout yesterday only because I don't have anywhere to go and the dust outside is more than enough to cause catarrh or chest pain. I am making sure that my cravings do not get the best of me, I am very wealthy as I write this post and my cravings are not the things I should satisfy in a time like this. Two days ago, I was craving bread and egg so much but I had to consider my friends here because we cook together. Buying the bread and egg would shorten the buying power to prepare a meal that will be enough for everyone later at night.
I make sure I contemplate well over anything before buying, I try to avoid buying things that won't last long. For example, I'd rather take a certain amount of money to prepare a good meal that will last me the whole day than use same amount to order a pack food that I will eat just once. I will definitely order food only if I can afford it. Another thing I do is cook with my friends, it really saves cost of getting foodstuffs and ingredients and proteins. We are about 5 and it has been great having to share same food with each other, really saves costs and even get you more.
Also, I also don't over feed myself, nahhh this is not the time to be doing that😂. Now I ration my meal well, eat to satisfaction but not over feed. I could do that I were at home with my parents, after eating I could then use my money to get whatever I feel like I need: I actually do this a lot, even here in school I could get peanuts or biscuits after a meal. I have been like that for a long time but I know I can't be doing that often in this time. There is a lot more to come after this festive period, new days, new weeks, new months, new bills, subscription renewals, restocking, etc.
