We all have some individuals that we hold in special place in our heart, they might not necessarily be a family member or related by blood. They are people we care about and always wish / pray for their wellbeing at all time. I particulaly have few sets of people I can go extra lenght for and it is because how much I value them:the length I can go for them is propotional to the how much I value them.
As long as you've got love in your heart, you must have lost count of the number of times you went out of your way to help. I can't count or remember every time I have gone out of my way to protect the ones that matter to me but one came to mind while I was thinking about how to participate in this prompt and I remembered when I almost put myself in trouble with my dad just to help my sister.
My dad got posted to the airport which is far from home and many times he would leave his car at home either because the road is bad, congested traffic or he would be staying back at work for a whole week. I became the owner of the car whenever he was not around, I would ignite the car, warm it, wash and check for the necessary things almost every morning. I had learnt how to drive the car already but my dad hasn't fully accepted that I drive his car especially when he is not around ( it's a usual thing between dads and sons: it takes a lot of convintion and / or stubborness to get dads to allow their son drive their car ).
Well, I have been taking my dad's car out many times without his consent and it is usually sweeter when I take it out without him knowing😂. So this very day, my sister had cramps and she wasn't having a good time at all plus she had malaria, so it was a bit serious. My sister normally doesn't eat much at all and rarely eat when she is not feeling so good. Second day with the menstral cramps, I got back from choir rehearsal on a Saturday night and my mom told me how my sister has refused to eat anything, even refuse to get some food for her from the restaurant.
At this point, I became worried because we couldn't convince her to eat. I thouggt for a while and remembered that she likes grilled beef, popularly called suya here in my country: sold at night with some spicy ground pepper, onions and cucumber. I asked her and she said yes, but it was late at that time she agreed to have suya for dinner. Dad's car was home and I could just take it out so I told my mom and she was skeptical about allowing me go out with the car when it's dark already. I used the excuse that my sister hasn't been out of the house since yesterday so she ought to get fresh air.
That night was my first time driving at night, it was an area I know well and a 5 minutes drive to the bus stop, so that didn't bother me. The first problem was that I forgot that the car tire had a problem, the shaft of the front tyres wre due for a change and they make noise whenever you want to make turn. I took the car out and the first problem was that the bus stop was jammed and there was little space to make a U-turn, I told my sis to get the suya herself by the roadside while I figure a way to make a U-turn.
I found a spot but I would need to make a reverse and U-turn, with the shaft problem of the front tires, I knew only God could save me at that point. I finally made a succesful turn but the shafts made very loud noise that drew some attention but I didn't care since I achieved what I wanted. I picked my sister and we were on our way home and seems my sister felt a better.
On our way home, the car went off while I was driving, the whole gear got locked....My God!!..... and the steering wheel was almost impossible to turn to park the car to avoid accident. But thank God I was able to park well, I sat in the car for a while then I ignited it again ( I was so happy that the car started).
I got home and my sister was quite better than she was. Dad got back the next day, noticed that his car had moved, he asked me and I told the truth. I was suprised by his reaction, he did not get angry at all but said I should be careful about the car in that state: he also told me the reason why the car stopped while I was driving.
