My joining Hive was out of curiosity, I never knew what I was jumping into but all I knew was that, I needed to just venture into this just to satisfy my curiosity😂 I knew about Hive through a client of mine and sometimes, I feel bad that my work with this particular client was terminated just because I joined Hive.
But I never for once regretted joining regardless. Having joined hive with so much curiosity and no one to actually guild me, I haven't really thought of setting goals for myself on Hive probably because I still haven't known the platform, a lot of things are still confusing to me however, I know for sure that with time, everything will be clear to me but for now I am just there...
Thank goodness I was privileged to be among this set newbie initiative which their week one task is centered on goal settings. The task questions given to us for this week by @starstringz has giving me a different perspective about goal settings and how important it is for me to set goals for my hive journey. Ride with me let's take a peak at what the questions are and my response to them
...What is the importance of goal settings and do you need to do them for this initiative?
One vital importance of goal settings is that, it Keeps you focused. It gives you a sense of direction on which step to take next.
The reason why I need goal settings for this initiative is because it will keep me on track, It will help me focus on what matters
...What makes a SMART goal
Here is what makes a smart goal
S - Specific: Be clear about what you want to achieve
M - Measurable: For this, it is very important to have a form of measurement. It could be miles, a day or even pounds.
A - Attainable: Make your goals realistic and achievable
R - Relevant: Your goals must align with your purpose.
T - Your goal settings should have a deadline or target
**...What are your goals as regard Hive power, followers, your engagement, your consistency and any other goal as a newbie on Hive **
My goal on Hive in the next 2 months is to;
- Reach at least 200HP
- Grow my followers to 50
- Engage on at least 10 posts everyday.
- I plan to post at least thrice a week
- Be active in communities both on Hive and Discord.
- I also plan on improving my participation in contest where I will be open to gaining more visibility.
I hope and pray for the strength to focus and be determined in order to achieve these goals.
...Analyze the above goal; what makes them smart goal?
My goals are SMART because
- SPECIFIC - I am clear on what I want
- MEASURABLE - they have a milestone to meet in the end
- ATTAINABLE - they are achievable if I am determined to do it
- RELEVANT - they are connected with my purpose
- TIME - They have a deadline which is a 2 month journey.
...What strategies do you want to put in place to achieve your goals
One of the strategies I want to use is to draw out a time table for my activities because I know without me managing my time well, I will be lost. I will make out a time table where by giving Hive 3 hours of my time every day which will be for both engagement, posting and curating
Of course Discord will not be left out of this time table, I will give 2 hours of my time to my amazing Discord community every day making everything 5 hours. I believe this is fair and doable with God by my side.
