Hello friends, we've reached another weekend and another topic that allows us to reflect together and share experiences. This can also be beneficial and help someone in a similar situation.
I'll share my personal experience in today's reflection.
There was a time in my life when I felt completely down, with no desire to do anything, nothing made sense.
Depression and anxiety were part of my daily life, and I didn't know how to deal with something so overwhelming that it influenced my days.
I would wake up tired, with a heaviness in my chest, and with no desire to do anything. Often, I just wanted to stay in bed in the dark, unable to see or hear anyone.
Each day seemed the same, and everything was difficult, even the simplest tasks.
I felt like I was losing control of my own life and that this was affecting those closest to me, my family.
I sought help because I couldn't take it anymore. I went to the doctor and started taking medication, because at the time I thought it was the best thing, and so did the doctor. In fact, at that moment, it was truly necessary; I even had to take a few days off work.
There were days when I could only get out of bed with the help of pills, and even then it was a difficult task.
The medication helped alleviate the symptoms, but I felt disconnected, half-numb inside. I didn't even feel like myself, I felt like I was flying on clouds.
Over time, I began to realize that I needed to do more for myself, and then I decided it was time for something to change. My life couldn't be limited to what was increasingly degrading my path in this world.
Just taking pills wasn't enough; I also had to do something for myself and for my closest family members, who suffered seeing me like this.
I started leaving the house every day, even if it was just for half an hour, and that was already a big step for me at the time.
I would walk to a garden near my house, or to the mountains where I live, and try to distract myself from what was causing these symptoms. Being in nature made me feel calmer, more peaceful. I felt myself returning to my former self.
I started paying attention to the trees, the sound of the birds, the smell of the earth—something I hadn't paid much attention to until recently.
I felt lighter when I was away from the noise and chaos, and that made me feel good, and it awakened in me the path I needed to take from then on.
Then I started exercising a little. My wife already went hiking, and I started doing it with her, always in contact with nature.
At first, it was difficult. My body felt weak, lacking energy, and sometimes I felt like giving up, but I continued day after day.
Walks became light runs, and then short training sessions.
Nothing too demanding, but enough to make me feel better about myself and improve my interactions with others.
My body moved, and my head also felt clearer. Not being stressed and not thinking about what was causing these symptoms made me feel much better.
These changes were made slowly, at my own pace, because, in my opinion, everything has its time.
There were no miracles or quick fixes, but little by little I felt the difference, and something improved within me, especially my mind.
I started to have more desire to do things, more energy, more mental clarity, and that was a huge achievement for me.
Little by little, with the right support, I started to wean myself off my medication, and sometimes I even forgot to take it.
Today, I know that depression and anxiety are part of my story, and I know I have to deal with them because I'm like this. I have to accept it, but now I know what to do.
They haven't completely disappeared, but they no longer control my life, and the lives of my family, who also suffered seeing me like this.
I have difficult days, of course, but now I have strategies to deal with them, and I try to help others who are going through the same thing. If I start to feel like I'm falling apart, I know I need to move, get out of the house, breathe fresh air, be in touch with nature. This is often enough to help me regain my balance, find my peace of mind, and see things in a simpler, more calming way.
Medication has become a temporary aid, in emergency situations, because depression and anxiety never disappeared; they're part of who I am.
But I've stopped relying on medication exclusively to live.
The biggest difference has been made by willpower and small changes in my daily life, as well as the help of my family, who have always supported me.
And, above all, I've learned to take care of myself in a simple and genuine way, and to get to know myself better.

Olá amigos chegamos a mais um fim de semana e mais um tema que nos permite refletir em conjunto e trocar experiências entre nós pode também ser algo bom e ajudar alguém que esteja numa situação idêntica.
Eu vou dar a minha experiência pessoal na minha reflexão de hoje.
Houve uma fase da minha vida em que me sentia completamente em baixo, sem vontade para nada, nada fazia sentido.
A depressão e a ansiedade faziam parte do meu dia-a-dia e eu não sabia como lidar com algo tão grande que influenciava os meus dias.
Acordava cansado, com um peso no peito, e sem vontade de fazer nada, muitas das vezes só queria estar na cama as escuras sem ver nem ouvir ninguém.
Cada dia parecia igual ao outro, e tudo me custava, mesmo as tarefas mais simples.
Senti que estava a perder o controlo da minha própria vida e que isso estava a influenciar quem me era mais próximo, a minha família.
Procurei ajuda, porque não conseguia mais e fui ao médico e comecei a tomar medicação, porque na altura achei que era o melhor e o médico também.
Na verdade, naquele momento, era mesmo necessário, inclusive tive de ficar uns dias em trabalhar.
Havia dias em que só com a ajuda dos comprimidos conseguia levantar-me da cama e mesmo assim era uma tarefa difícil.
A medicação ajudava a aliviar os sintomas, mas sentia-me desligado, meio dormente por dentro, nem parecia que era eu, parecia que estava voando nas nuvens.
Com o tempo, comecei a perceber que precisava de fazer mais por mim e ai decidi que era altura de algo mudar, a minha vida não podia se resumir aquilo apenas que estava a degradar vad vez mais o meu percurso neste mundo.
Apenas tomar comprimidos não era suficiente, eu também tinha de fazer algo por mim e pelos meus familiares mais próximos que sofriam a ver me assim.
Comecei por sair de casa todos os dias, nem que fosse só durante meia hora, e isso nessa altura já era um grande passo para mim.
Ia andar até um jardim perto de casa,ou até a serra onde vivo e tentava me abstrair do que me causava esses sintomas.
Estar na natureza fazia-me sentir mais calmo, mais tranquilo, sentia me voltando a ser o que eu era antes disto.
Comecei a prestar atenção às árvores, ao som dos pássaros, ao cheiro da terra, algo que até a um tempo atrás eu não ligava muito.
Sentia-me mais leve quando estava longe do barulho e da confusão, e isso fazia me sentir bem, e despertou em mim o caminho que eu tinha de fazer dai para a frente.
Depois comecei a fazer um pouco de exercício, a minha esposa já fazia caminhadas e eu comecei a fazer em conjunto com ela sempre em contacto com a natureza.
No início foi difícil, o corpo estava mole, sem energia, por vezes vinha a ideia desistir, mas continuei dia após dia.
Caminhadas tornaram-se corridas leves, e depois pequenas sessões de treino.
Nada muito exigente, mas o suficiente para me sentir melhor comigo mesmo e melhorar a minha interação com os outros.
O corpo mexia-se e a cabeça também ficava mais limpa, sem estar em stress e não pensava no que me causava esses sintomas fez me melhorar muito.
Estas mudanças foram feitas devagar, ao meu ritmo, porque eu na minha opinião tudo tem o seu tempo.
Não houve milagres nem soluções rápidas, mas aos poucos senti a diferença e algo melhorava em mim, na minha mente principalmente.
Comecei a ter mais vontade de fazer coisas, mais energia, mais clareza mental e isso era uma grande conquista para mim.
Aos poucos, com o acompanhamento certo, fui deixando a medicação, e as vezes até já me esquecia de a tomar.
Hoje em dia, sei que a depressão e a ansiedade fazem parte da minha história, e sei que tenho de lidar com elas, porque sou assim, tenho de aceitar ,mas agora sei o que fazer.
Não desapareceram por completo, mas deixaram de controlar a minha vida, e a vida da minha família que sofreu também ao me ver assim.
Tenho dias difíceis, claro, mas agora tenho estratégias para lidar com isso, e tento ajudar outras pessoas que estejam a passar pelo mesmo.
Se começo a sentir que estou a ir abaixo, sei que preciso de me mexer, sair de casa, respirar ar puro, estar em contacto com a natureza, e isso muitas das vezes basta para voltar a encontrar o meu equilíbrio, e voltar a encontrar a minha tranquilidade e ver as coisas de uma maneira mais simples, mais tranquilizantes.
A medicação passou a ser uma ajuda pontual, em situações de urgência, porque a depressão e a ansiedade nunca desapareceram, fazem parte da minha pessoa.
Mas deixei de depender da medicação exclusivamente para viver.
A maior diferença foi feita pela força de vontade e pelas pequenas mudanças no dia-a-dia e também com a ajuda da família que me apoiou sempre.
E, acima de tudo, aprendi a cuidar de mim de forma simples e verdadeira, e a saber me conhecer melhor.
