Hello friends, let's reflect together. I've sometimes wondered what it means to stop. Not to stop because of failure, not because of a lack of choice, but to stop because I want to, because sometimes I get this overwhelming urge to do something, and that happens to all of us. When things are going well, when there are possibilities, when the next achievement is already there, waiting, taking some time off at that moment seems almost wrong. But there are days when the idea of continuing without breathing scares me more than the idea of falling behind, and sometimes it's necessary to make that decision.
When I talk and think about this topic, I'm not sure when I started considering a sabbatical as a real possibility. Maybe it was when I realized I can't remember the last time I did something just because, without wanting to prove anything, without trying to justify it with some kind of usefulness, and this leads to it coming to mind and hovering over us. Like all, or almost all, of us, I grew up surrounded by goals, deadlines, and to-do lists, and I learned to measure my worth based on results. Furthermore, in the world and society we live in, this is a major reality, which is why taking a sabbatical sometimes seems like heresy, a waste, or even a luxury. Other times, it seems like the only way to stay calm, and I know what that means, as there are times when I need to take a deep breath to calm down and reassure myself in certain situations.
In my case, I don't want to turn a sabbatical into a project. I don't want to enter this time with a thousand plans, courses, and new habits. I think part of me just wants silence, because I already have a busy life, and I realize I need the calm to breathe. Just thinking about waking up and not knowing what to do with the day. I just want to discover what happens when time isn't all counted, but I know I keep running away from it, as if it were a danger, as if stopping were the same as giving up. As if stopping would make everything that came before lose its meaning, sometimes I admit it's out of fear and for the sake of others around me.
I've been told that a sabbatical can be good for reinventing myself. But I don't even know if I want to reinvent myself. Believe me, sometimes I just want to exist effortlessly, I just want to be free from worrying about the next step, what others will think, productivity, and so many other things. I think I just want to remember what it was like to be me, before I took on a thousand roles. For me, that's not laziness, that's not escape, but I believe and think that maybe it is a little bit. But it's also an honest desire to live more lightly, and I so desperately need that to happen sometimes.
I know there are those who use this time to find themselves, often in the spiritual realm. I don't want to find myself; I just want to listen to myself. I just want to have that feeling and know what's left when I stop running, if the world continues, and if I stay on my feet, maybe a sabbatical won't bring answers, because I've never done that anyway. Maybe it won't change much, but maybe it will give me back a part of myself that I've been leaving behind along the way.
I don't know if I'll have the courage to do it, but thinking about it has already been a way to breathe. And sometimes, just breathing is a start, and it's something I'll one day be able to do for my own well-being as a person and as a human being.

Olá amigos vamos a mais uma reflexão em conjunto.Eu por vezes já fiquei a pensar no que significa parar. Não parar por falha, não parar por falta de escolha, mas parar por vontade porque as vezes dá essa vontade grande de o fazer e isso acontece a todos nós. Quando as coisas estão a correr bem, quando há possibilidades, quando a próxima conquista já está ali à espera tirar um tempo nesse momento parece quase errado. Mas tem dias em que a ideia de continuar sem respirar me assusta mais do que a ideia de ficar para trás, e as vezes é preciso tomar essa decisão.
Ao falar e pensar neste tema não sei bem quando comecei a considerar um ano sabático como possibilidade real. Talvez tenha sido quando percebi que não me lembro da última vez que fiz algo só porque sim, sem querer provar nada, sem tentar justificar com algum tipo de utilidade e isso leva a que isso nos venha a nossa cabeça e ande a pairar sobre nós.
Como todos ou quase todos nós eu cresci rodeado de metas, prazos, listas de tarefas, e aprendi a medir o meu valor com base em resultados e ainda por cima no mundo e na sociedade em que vivemos isso é uma grande realidade por isso tirar um ano sabático parece, às vezes, uma heresia como um desperdício ou mesmo um luxo. Outras vezes parece a única maneira de não perder a cabeça e sei bem o que isso é já que hé momentos que é preciso respirar bem para me acalmar e tranquilizar perante certas situações.
Eu noi meu caso não quero transformar um sabático num projeto. Não quero entrar nesse tempo com mil planos e cursos e hábitos novos. Acho que parte de mim só quer silêncio, porque a vida agitada já eu tenho, e noto que preciso de calma de respirar. Só de pensar em acordar e não saber o que fazer com o dia. Só quer descobrir o que acontece quando o tempo não está todo contado mas sei que continuo a fugir disso, como se fosse um perigo como se parar fosse o mesmo que desistir. Como se parar fizesse tudo o que veio antes perder o sentido, as vezes admito que é por receio e pelos outros que me rodeiam.
Já me disseram que um ano sabático pode ser bom para reinventar. Mas eu nem sei se quero reinventar-me acreditem às vezes só queria existir sem esforço, só queria estar sem me preocupar com o próximo passo, com o que os outros vão pensar, com a produtividade e tantas outras coisas e penso que só queria lembrar como era ser eu, antes de me vestir de mil funções, para mim isso não é preguiça, isso não é fuga mas acredito e penso que talvez até seja um pouco, mas também é uma vontade honesta de viver com mais leveza e eu necessito tanto por vezes que isso acontecesse.
Sei que há quem use esse tempo para se encontrar muitas das vezes na parte espiritual até. Eu não quero me encontrar só quero me ouvir. Só gostava de ter aquela sensação e de saber o que sobra quando deixo de correr se o mundo continua, e se eu continuo de pé talvez um ano sabático não traga respostas, pois nunca o fiz mesmo. Talvez nem mude muita coisa mas talvez me devolva uma parte de mim que fui deixando pelo caminho.
Não sei se vou ter coragem de fazer isso, mas pensar nisso já tem sido uma forma de respirar. E às vezes, só respirar já é um começo e é algo que um dia poderei fazer para o meu próprio bem como pessoa e ser humano.
