The education system doesn't teach an individual about how to live their life or how to associate with other humans, and also how an individual should relate to their environment. We all learn through participation and observation of our environment and the people around us. Most people go to school to gain certification 0061and an upper hand in the dealings of life, how we survive and interact with others and our environment, we learn outside the four walls of the institutions, although some people take courses specifically on this subject, sometimes it does not apply to the majority of people in the world.
From basic to are taught to count numbers, recite letters A-Z, simple arithmetic, how to read and write, before expanding into various subjects in the secondary School and in the long run, we pick a specific field to major in. Learning it to its depth to specialize in the subject in general.
One of the lessons I learnt in life that I was not taught within a classroom wall is the importance and the value of true friendships and connections. Friends can be a very important aspect of our life’s struggle in the course of one's life. A true friend will stand by you through thick and thin.
The classroom may teach you some basic and complex subjects that might make your life easier and better, but it rarely teaches you the importance of a relationship or the importance of building a relationship. Where your certificate fails is where the friendship or relationship you have in life manifests.
In my journey in life, I was with the mindset that after I get my degree certification and am done with serving my nation, which is something we do in my country after you graduate from a higher Institute, I will get a job immediately and start planning my life immediately, believing all will be well. I was humbled by life and with the situation in my country that I was so unlucky to find myself in, I realized that a good relationship and friendship are more valuable than the so-called degree you went to the university for four years to obtain.
While you require your ability to get a job or your experience in a job to grow and excel higher in the developed world, relationships, which are mostly referred to as connection is considered before excellence.
In 10 instances, the most you will find where excellence might be considered before connection will be 2-3 out of 10. This has caused several problems to businesses and the economy at large, but that will be a topic for another day.
I found out the importance of friendship and good relationships when I was struggling to get a job. Firstly, I became aware of an opportunity to work in some investment banking organization which I wouldn't have been aware of existed if not for my friend who works there and informed me of the opportunity, although my connection got me an interview, I was not able to get the job at the time.
