There are many precious people in our lives who play an important role in making us a successful person. One of them are our teachers. Most of us do remember those golden old days and appreciate the efforts and hard work done by our teachers in making our lives better and making us a good human being. Every teacher gives his/her best to make their students more intelligent and sharp. My first and my best teacher is my Mother who taught me everything in my life and still doing the same at times when needed.

I never thought of grading my teachers. It’s the first time I thought of doing it and tried to remember all of my teachers who ever taught me in my life to scale them between one to ten. Suddenly, my brain slapped me “What are you doing”. I gave it a second thought and stepped back in doing this thing. The reason is who am I to grade my teachers, people who tried to teach 25-40 students at a time, busy whole day in making lives of others, pointing out weaknesses and discussing them with their parents to get rid of those weaknesses. What is their benefit in doing all those things, nothing but just an average salary. For me there are some best teachers, good teachers and then there are teachers. I cannot attach word worst with the teacher.

I don’t remember much of first three classes/grades but when we moved to Nepal in 1996, I was admitted in an Indian Modern School. The most difficult and horrible moment for me was to learn Hindi and Sanskrit when other students were able to write it very easily but I even don’t know the letters of it. Then there comes my most favorite teacher of all times, Chanda Maam. I still remember how she taught me Hindi from the beginning, the letters and then writing. I used to write Hindi while hiding it from others or else they would make fun of me, but Chanda Maam always check me while writing and appreciates my hand writing by saying wow how could you write those letters so beautifully and many other lovely words which gives me courage and motivation. Then I used to write giving it my 100% and with more focus. Day by day, I learnt Hindi in no time and within six months, I started getting highest marks in Hindi and Sanskrit subject in weekly and monthly exams. It was all because of Chanda Maam. Not only in exams but I got second position in Hindi hand Writing competition.

Another best teacher was my tutor Mr. Umesh, who was a very young guy. I checked but didn’t find any of his picture, could be in some old albums. He was very sharp and intelligent. He transformed me into a very brilliant student. His teaching skills were wonderful. He used to punish me even if I get below 80%. He used to play tricks with me in order to make me a perfect student. No doubt, I learnt many things from him apart from my syllabus.

Apart from school teachers, there are some other people too who teaches you many lessons in life or guides you at workplace. One of them for me is Mr. Ali, who at my first job taught me the skills and way of working in Customer Service Department. In growth of my career, I won’t hesitate to accept that his contribution is well appreciated. His guidance was superb, still remember the nights our batch spent with him in learning call center basics and handling customers.

Teachers are one of the best gifts from God. I am thankful to all of my teachers who taught us very well and gave extra attention to those who were weak, also punished when needed in order to make us understand few things or not to repeat the mistakes. Everything has a reason behind what they asked us to do. Once again, thanks for giving us all the knowledge and for all the efforts. Cheers!!!!
