Hope we are all having a wonderful week as usual. The week has started and here we are with another very interesting topic to talk about.
The world is fast growing and now we have become used to these two statements. The freedom of speech is a constitutional right that we are supposed to enjoy but then privacy is a much as well. Let’s get into it.
We are in a world where every one of us values our privacy a lot. We see the US questioning people like Mark Zuckerberg on the type of information they give out through their Facebook accounts. All this is an indication that privacy is a top most priority for us humans. But then after privacy what we love dearly is to be able to speak freely. We speak of freedom of speech as our constitutional right hence it should not be tampered with.
But then what happens if one of given the chance to choose between privacy and freedom of speech? Yes, we all love to be able to speak freely but then in my own opinion having a private life is all I ask for. Being able to speak freely is a good thing in my opinion but then it won’t hurt you much if you are not able to speak freely. Yes, it is our constitutional right but then man what do we do with all that when we do not have our privacy?
I regard myself as someone who wants to leave a private life and as such I make sure I try as much as not to pry into the private lives of others. I know how valuable being private is to me and as such I don’t tamper with other's own.
“Do to others what you want others to do to you”
That’s the golden rule and as such I wouldn’t want others prying into my privacy so I’ll try as much as I can not to pry into others.
With the way I am, I don’t think losing my right to freedom of speech is gonna hurt me that much unless I don’t know what the true meaning of freedom of speech is lol. I’d love to be in my corner than to be in someone's corner saying things that do not concern me all in the name of freedom of speech.
In this modern age and security, even our mobile phones spy on us and give the report back to the makers of the mobile phones. What do we ask for? We seek devices that can give us a voice not devices that pry into our lives. But what can we do, we have in turn sacrificed our privacy to have a voice. Man, I know I’d sacrifice this for my privacy. Am so big on the privacy shit. Am one of those people who can take someone's mobile phone and won’t know where to go cause I don’t want to see what am not supposed to see. Unlike others who will take your mobile and the first place they will visit is your messages.
So what is it for you? Do you want a private life where you’d lose the right to freedom of speech or you’d rather lose your privacy and compromise for having your right to speak freely?
