What does a great day look like to a working-class citizen? For most working class a perfect day might be a weekend, when they get a pay rise or when they get bonuses. For some people is finally finishing a project they have been working on for a long time. Back at the university, a happy day meant that a class that I hated so much was cancelled.
I believe as humans we have been programmed to get bored of something that we have wanted all our lives. Look at it this way. People who have worked all their lives to get to a certain position at a point in time get tired of their jobs, there are days that they wish they wouldn’t go and suddenly that dream job which they prayed to God so much annoys them and what they always pray to come is the weekend so they can have their rest. The weekend is only exciting if you have had enough time to rest and feel like it at home.
For me, an ideal day can come from anything. When I started this job, I had never enjoyed my off days until one of those days when it felt like a heavy weight was lifted off my shoulders on that particular off day. The thing is my ideal off day can come from anything at all. What I enjoy most is having my off day all to myself. My off days are mostly filled with long hours of sleep and staying in bed. At times it’s even hard to have my breakfast and lunch cause I sleep so much that I feel too lazy to take those meals.
On this particular day, I had slept early the previous day. This was because we had a delay that previous day and work was overwhelming. So I didn’t have the time and leisure to do things that I’d normally do when I got home. So when I got home it was straight to bed before I got up and had my supper. After my supper, I immediately went back to bed and woke up pretty early that day, much to my surprise. I say it was a surprise because, since the beginning of this year, I’ve been battling with keeping with my previous schedule up until that day.

The first thing I did when I woke up was to pray. After I prayed I had to do a few things around the house, mostly it’s those activities which would take me out of my room if not am not forced to leave my room for any reason. After those chores, I immediately wrote a post. The thing about my writing is that am mostly motivated by I write early in the morning or during the night. For me, the perfect time to blog is in the dawn which I suddenly seem to be stopping so the next chance was in the morning. When I write in the morning the ideas come flowing left, right, Center.
After making that blog I was feeling a bit relieved. I say a bit relieved because each time I blog successfully I do feel relieved. So after that, the next thing was my laptop straight to the spl site to play a few games. That’s the ideal morning for me right there. I think when I get to do those things within the day then half of my day is already fulfilled.
What next? Huh, a nice movie for the afternoon is always appreciated by my eyes. I am someone who doesn’t watch a lot of movies, even if you see me watching a movie it might be a series which I find very interesting. On this particular day, I was fortunate that one of my favorite series shows had just released a new episode, it was available for download so I went ahead to get it and watch.
The rest of the day was used for coding, playing football and the other. That is what an ideal day looks like to me. I don’t need a lot of stuff to make me happy, just a few of my regulars and am ok. What counts as a perfect day for you?
