If you were wondering what was that vehicle above, that was a space rover that was sent to Mars and if you read my previous post, I once dreamed of reaching the space and though it would likely be impossible, I still enjoy watching and reading space-related news. How does that relate to this day's topic? That Space rover was called CURIOSITY which is to show humanity's curiosity to know the universe more and decided that it would be a good thumbnail for my post while being educational.
That said, I am not here to tell positive stories of how curiosity have favored me such as how my curiosity on a certain Web3 game has introduced me to HIVE cause I believe there will be a time for those stories to shine. What I'm here to tell was that there will be times that curiosity without caution could lead to endanger people's lives as what the saying said "Curiosity killed the cat." which I was almost about to be due to my carelessness.
I don't have an exact recollection of when exactly this events happened or in any particular order aside from that it happened when before I was 11 cause it happened before our house has undergone renovations.
My late father's job was a police officer and because of that, he owns a number of different guns aside from those that was issued to him. He always kept those things on places that we could not reach because he know how dangerous it is but there was one time where I found a bullet under our sala chair. Maybe he drooped it when he was doing some gun maintenance. Upon seeing the bullet, all I know is that it was just a small piece of metal and comes with this questions.

- How could a metal make such sound when people shoot on the movies?
- How was it so fast that I can't see it with my eyes?
So my curiosity has gotten into me where in I did try to throw the bullet against the wall for a couple of times until it makes a loud bang which is heard all over the house and alerted our parents. Upon their arrival, they asked what happened and upon looking at the wall, they saw that there was a dent on it which is the result of the gunpowder exploding, shooting the projectile which could have hit me fatally if I'm unlucky. After that, I was heavily reprimanded by my parents and my father has become more vigilant on where he keeps his guns and bullets. But that was not the only time that I got involved with gunpowder.
New year was such a important event in my country and it would not be complete if people does not celebrate it with fireworks and firecrackers but for us children, we are only allowed to light the sparkle types where you hold the half of it and the other half goes to light beautifully and even changed colors from white to yellow to red until its gone. But as you know, most children would be already tired and asleep on 12 am and being a child myself, I miss the countdown causing for those fireworks to not be used. Few weeks after that, I saw the fire works at the storage and decided to light them but with it also saw these metal tube with the ruler's height and got curious what would happen if I transfer the contents of that to that tube.

- Would it make a bigger lights?
- What will happen to the color of the fireworks it I mixed the gunpowder?
So I mixed the gunpowder then transferred it into the tube where I filled more than half of it with sand since I don't have enough gunpowder to fill it. I also saw some firecrackers so I also added them to the tube then it was finally the time to light it so I go outside the house. I light it with a match which at first which lightens up with the mix of white, yellow and red until it explodes with a loud bang. This causes me to be stunned for a while until all I know was that I was sitting on the ground and a number of people was circling around me, probably gets alarmed by the sound. I look at the tube that I was holding and saw that only half of it remains. As for the other half, it has pierced the mango tree that we own. Still disoriented, I tried to pull the piece that pierced the tree not realizing that it was really hot and causes it to burned my thumb which finally brought back my awareness and finally realized what really happened. Again, I could only imagine what would happen to me if the tube goes into my direction when it was strong enough to pierce the tree. My parents had left to work when it happened and thankfully, the neighbors only tell my om what happened so I was not scolded that heavily.
The last story I'm about to share was one I only know but was also quite a dangerous thing I did as a child. One day, while I was walking back to home, I saw an electric plug which seems to be fairly new looking but the end of the cables, whose length was around half a ruler, were pealed that shows the copper wire. I picked it up because I thought it can still be useful. Then I got home with the urge to watch TV so I insert the TV's plug into the outlet in order to open it. Seeing this event that took place, I began to get curious how does the TV and other house appliances gets powered when plugged into the electric socket and remembering that I have picked a plug, I insert it to the electric outlet. Since both ends of the cable were pealed and was close to each other, it caused it to make a spark while producing a scary sound. At first, I panicked and do not know what to do since no one was home during that time aside from me but eventually, I removed the plug from the outlet. Since there are some time since I pulled the plug, the cable got burned, showing more of the copper wire. Thinking what would happen during that time, my curiosity could not only electrocuted me but also burn our house.

While curiosity is a very important thing that encourages us to learn things that we do not know, without caution and awareness of the possible consequences, it can become a double edge sword that could potentially hurt its own owner. As for me, I get to this very dangerous situation but at the same time, I was also take this experience as lessons that I would hold as long as I live and may it be also a reminder for all the parents out there to pay more attention to their children as they were full of curiosity during that time.
Thank you for reading my post and see you at the next one!
