Going through multiple jobs, I think was the best way to say it rather than using career as job can be anything that you do for money, whereas a career was more of a long-term endeavour that you work on not only because of the money but also because you are passionate of doing it and is made up of the combination of roles, experiences, education and pathways you take to achieve your goals. It can be that a person goes from one company to another due to various circumstances but still following the same career path as long as they took the same work they do from their previous company. So was it right to switch between jobs or focus on a single career?
I think the answer for this was quite complicated. For one, not everyone knows what they want to do with their life or know the extent of things that they can do. All they know was that they need to earn to put food in the table so they will take whatever jobs they can. One example was when I was in college where some of my classmates have ended up switching their course when they are struggling or realized that they are not really interested on the course and maybe even perceived it as a way to earn money more easily. There are even cases where people have chosen an entirely different job from what they studied and chosen it as their career as they find more joy working for that job.
Another thing to take into consideration is the availability of the job that you want to pursue as your main career. Finding work alone is hard enough even for a well educated person as no matter what job it is, there will always be competition and when it comes to companies, they mostly favor those people who have prior experience to the job making it harder for less experienced people to find jobs, fresh graduates in particular. So even when you know the career that you want to take and say that you were passionate about it, it was still a struggle to get that job.
This was very true to me because before I have my current job as an I.T. Support (and consider to be my main career), which is in line with the course that I studied in college, it still take years before I was able to find a company that will accept me so in order to earn money, I work for different jobs too, one of which was when I work as a supervisor for a retail company for two years and even when this job was closer to my home, work-environment was not toxic and has good salary, I just don't get fulfilled. In contrast, I find my current job more fulfilling and something that I will stay and grow for a long time.

When I was still working as Supervisor.
So in short, what I'm sayin is that for most people, finding a single career to take might be the ideal but was easier said than done due to the factors pertaining on how much we know our self and the things we can do and how the job industry work. And for that, I think that it is ok for people to switch between jobs, considering our financial needs but should not stop there and find a work that they will want to stay because it earns them money but also because they enjoy it. More like, think of career as something to be as your goal and the multiple jobs you take as the different paths people take to reach it.
