In our lifetime, we will encounter someone that is stingy or greedy and possibly both. Before I continue I'd like to define what's stingy and greedy in my own words. For me, stingy just means selfish or picky on spending money. As for greedy, to me it means always wanting more and never being satisfied. In this post, I want to share one instance where I was stingy and one instance where I was greedy. I don't want to talk badly about somebody so I will talk about myself.

When I was young, I want to say I was very stingy. I didn't want to share things with my younger brother. For example, when it came to food I would always want to eat all the French fries for myself. Another example would be sharing a laptop that we had and PlayStation 3; I would always hog it and spend the most time on these devices. When I look back at this, I think I was really too stingy and I'm not sure what made me that way. It could be because I was immature.

Anyways the present me is way better than when I was young. I've learned to be generous and to give back to the community. I've actually bought food for people in the streets and even did some volunteer work. I believe if we are more fortunate than others, we need to help those that are less fortunate. It doesn't necessarily just mean give money but we can also give our time.

A point of my life where I was greedy was around 2021. I got lucky from Gods Unchained and got an airdrop for IMX and Gods tokens that ended up being worth $10k USD+ at the time. I should've sold it because I never received such a massive amount of money before. You probably foresaw this coming since I mentioned I was greedy. Yes, I didn't sell it because I was greedy and I thought it could be worth more in the future. I thought that 10k could end up 15k or 20k+. Little did I know, the market would slowly make it's way down all the way until where we are now which is considered a bear market still.

This was when the crypto market was booming and it was my first year in crypto so I was a total newbie. It's definitely an experience I will never forget and I definitely learned my lesson. A few months ago, I made a new friend and mentor, @Aruchard and he's been teaching me about crypto and the markets. One of the things he taught me was to have a plan in mind and know "when you've won the game". If you already got huge profits, just take it and I really think his advice is great.

There are times where I think being greedy is ok but it's very specific. I think we should be greedy when it comes to ourselves. We should look to improve ourselves and keep learning. We should never be satisfied with where we are and try to aim higher and be better. Anyways this is all my own opinion and I hope you can respect that.

In conclusion, it's not good to be stingy or greedy. We need to be generous and we need to know when we've won the game. Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed my real life experiences that I shared.
