Hive Learners is one of my favorite communities to write it. You can see from my past posts that I'm writing in this community 1-3x a week for their Featured Edition Contest. I enjoy the random topics to write about and it's good get away from just writing about gaming. The topic this time around is what needs to be changed or improved for their contest so they can hit another milestone for Week 200. I will be sharing some of my suggestions and thoughts for what I think can be done.
Honestly, this is probably a crazy suggestion but I'd be down for a different topic everyday to write about. This means we would have weekly editions 1-7 so for example next week we would have hl-w101-e1 to hl-w101-e7. Then each topic will be something different so there will always be a topic that someone can write about. I found myself not being able to write for certain topics because it just didn't really resonate with me. Maybe I could write about it but I would have to fluff it up to reach the necessary word count which is not something I would want to do so I just skip the topic. This is why I choose topics I like and have interest in. I would be writing something that I'm happy with and others may enjoy reading as well because they can feel the passion into the writing.
Another suggestion I'd be down for is a lucky draw for pulling the topics. For those that don't know, there is a weekly hangout on Saturdays that play a role in voting for the topics. Maybe we can have some of these topics be chosen by lucky draw for those that are active in the hangout or the top authors of the week etc. At least this would give chance to some not so popular topics to get through. It doesn't always have to be a lucky draw but there should be more ways than just having people vote for topics. Maybe don't let us vote one week and the team can just choose the topics. There's many different ways this can be done and this will be up to the team whether they want to do it or not.
In addition to that, I would love to see a new mini game for the hangouts. This item isn't particularly related to the contest but more towards the hangout. I've still been waiting for bruno to show us a new game instead of the dice roll. I would love to see a trivia or some sort of iq or skill based game like Gartic instead of RNG.
Aside from the suggestions I mentioned, I believe Hive Learners is already doing a great job. They just have to maintain what they are doing, keep the community engaged and keep growing the community. Hopefully we can double up the community from here. It would be perfect to hit that 200 week milestone.
