Social media influencers became a thing around my teen years. This was when social media platforms like Facebook, Myspace, YouTube etc boomed. The good thing about being a social media influencer is that you get paid or you get free stuff for promoting a service or product to your following and sometimes both. The downside for social media influencers is that they will most likely lose their privacy, they may get haters/stalkers, and the list goes on. Today, I will go through my thoughts on this and answer the hypothetical question of what brands I would want to influence if I was a social media influencer.
If I was to become a social media influencer, the brands I would influence would most likely be things I'm interested in. For example, I'm a gamer so I would love to be a social media influencer for gaming brands like Logitech, Lenovo, MSI, Razer, Alienware etc. I'd be pretty happy with a new gaming laptop, headset and mouse through helping to market their products. In addition to that, I would want to help influence web3 projects as well as long as it's a good project that I myself would want to own or play. There were a lot of social media influencers for web3 gaming that mostly shilled projects and some of these were just straight out scams. I wouldn't want to be like one of those. Aside from web3 projects, I think clothing brands would be great as well because then I don't have to worry about buying new clothes. Lastly, I would also love to influence food brands since I love to eat so I wouldn't mind endorsing some nice Korean BBQ or ramen shop.

My almost 7 years old MSI laptop which is still working great
Ideally among my followers, I'd want to be known as someone that is super good at a certain game. For example, like Faker for League of Legends. Anybody that knows League of Legends would know who Faker is because that's how much of a legend he is. He's just that great at the game and even though he's not at his prime anymore, I still think he's a great player. Speaking of Faker I do hope he wins Worlds with SKT1 and gets his 4th Worlds Title for League of Legends. I also would like to be known for being kind or being a happy positive vibe person that people enjoy watching streams or the content that I share.
In reality though, I am not a social media influencer nor do I plan to be one. I did consider being one in the past when I was eighteen years old did. I played around with YouTube which might have been successful if I continued doing it. I actually had a video that reached over 7k views if I'm not mistaken which in a way is kind of scary because the video was pretty cringe. Anyways being a social media influencer just isn't for me. I'm someone that likes to stay low key so being a social media influencer would be out of the question.
