In life, there's always decisions that need to be made. These decisions are sometimes easy to make and sometimes they are hard to make. Sometimes we make a good decision and sometimes we make a bad one. It's all a learning process and through that we gain the experience for future decision making. Today, I will breakdown my decision making process in different situations.
Money
I feel there are two main aspects to consider when deciding to spend money. These two aspects are necessity and non-necessity. Necessity are the things we need like food, water, shelter etc while non-necessity is stuff like entertainment, sports, a 4050 RTX 128 GB Ram PC, etc. Then this can further be broken down into another two factors which I would like eto call small purchase and big purchase. A small purchase for me would be like $1-99 and a big purchase would be over $100. This will be different for everyone since not everyone makes the same amount of money.
Personally for me, I would prioritize my necessities first and ensure I have all that covered. There's actually people that don't do this which is kind of sad but that could be due to many other outside factors for example drug addiction. As for non-necessities, it depends on the money leftover but I will have some money allocated monthly for entertainment and hanging out with friends. As for small purchases, usually I don't have to think much over them. It's usually a quick buy for me regardless being a necessity or not. When it comes to the bigger purchases, that's where I take time and try to compare alternatives and prices at different locations.
Action
Action decisions are like the ones where we choose to do something. It's kind of related to money but I will focus on the time aspect. There's twenty four hours in a day and assuming we sleep 6-10 hours a day that leaves only 14-18 hours. Then if it's a weekday we are working so this time goes down even more. The things we can do on our free time differs as well. Some people like to go to gym or do sports. Personally for me, this time I usually choose to relax by listening to music, watching anime and gaming. Sometimes it just depends on the feeling for these action decisions. For example, like deciding what to eat when at the mall. One day I might be feeling like sushi and another day I may feel like eating kbbq.
Life
Life decisions are probably the biggest decisions we make in our life. They can vary from person to person but some key ones are relationships, education and career. For me, there are some key things to making these decisions. I will ask myself questions like is this good for me, is this what I want etc and also depending on the decision I will ask for advice to people with more life experience. I'm pretty sure everyone does something similar but feel free to share in comments if it's not similar to mine!
Outcome
If I made a good decision, then that's great. If I made a bad one, well I will just have to suck it up and learn from it so I can make better decisions in the future. There's not really much you can do after making a bad decision. Just have to take it in and learn from it.
That's decision making for me in a nutshell. I tried to summarize to the best of my ability if not it would be too long and probably bore people.
