Divorce is a complicated time for both the couple and their children, if they have any. The mental health of everyone involved is affected and, with that, we must think calmly before simply accusing someone of not thinking about all the points. I see that couples who divorce are like people who have reached their limit, perhaps one of them gave their best and it wasn't enough or even they did, but the other person didn't know how to value it. In any case, it is a complicated situation and requires the utmost caution from all parties.
Can we compare the pain of children when they see their parents separated with the exact pain of the parents themselves? It is complicated and perhaps many people even think that the pain of the children will be greater, but has anyone ever thought about adults? What about when one of them does everything to please their partner and the person simply does not give a damn about it? What about when this person practically lives for their spouse and their children and gives up their own life, but still is not thanked by their partner for it?
I think it is like reaching an extreme and I think it must be painful when couples break up and, thus, one of the parties sees the other change completely and the only possible solution is divorce. Imagine the person's mind, seeing that their partner has become another person? Another individual and mind? Imagine seeing that the person you fell in love with is no longer the same and that now they are there with you in body, but in mind and heart you no longer match? I think this suffering must be very heavy for everyone.
UnsplashIn this way, divorce is bad for children, for sure, yes, the judgments, fallacies, bullying, jokes, all of this will do a lot of harm to the children of this couple, but I think we should also think carefully about the reason that led to the separation. Each party involved must have fought until the end to maintain the marriage, with many sacrifices, patience, feelings of helplessness or of not being able to offer more than reality provides and even so, no thanks, only angry faces and complaints. Now imagine this for 5, 10 or 20 years in a row?
Therefore, I avoid comparing people's pains, I think it makes no sense, to say that one suffers more than the other, because in the end, each one suffers what they think they have to suffer, each one carries their own cross and their own weighting of that pain. So, divorce is bad for the children, for sure, but it must also be bad for the parents in some cases, when they know that there was love, affection and complicity and now, only the end, the tragic, the separation.
So I'm not saying it's worse for one than the other, just that divorce is the end, it's the pain that overcame love, that the happy moments no longer exist and that, with that, the desire to have some freedom back speaks louder. I think divorce is like wars, even though they say one side won, in reality, everyone involved lost. There are no winners in a war that killed thousands, just as there are no winners in a divorce that killed a family.

O divórcio é um momento complicado tanto para o casal quanto para os filhos do mesmo, caso eles tenham. A saúde mental afetada de todos os envolvidos é dolorosa e, com isso, devemos pensar com calma antes de simplesmente acusar que alguém não pensou em todos os pontos. Vejo que casais que se divorciam são como pessoas que chegaram ao seu limite, talvez uma delas tenha dado o seu melhor e não foi o suficiente ou até foi, mas a outra pessoa não soube valorizar isso. De qualquer forma, é uma situação complicada e requer o máximo de cautela possível de todas as partes.
Será que podemos comparar a dor dos filhos ao verem os seus pais separados com a exata dor dos próprios pais? É complicado e talvez muitas pessoas até julguem que a dor dos filhos será maior, mas, alguém já pensou nos adultos? E quando um deles faz de tudo para agradar o seu parceiro e simplesmente a pessoa não dá um pingo de moral para isso? E quando essa pessoa praticamente vive em prol do seu cônjuge e dos seus filhos e abre mão da sua própria vida, mas mesmo assim ainda não é agradecido por seu parceiro por isso?
Acho que é como chegar a um extremo e penso que deve ser doloroso quando casais terminam e, assim, uma das partes vê a outra mudar completamente e a única solução possível é o divórcio. Imagine a cabeça da pessoa, ver que o seu parceiro se transformou em outra pessoa? Em outro indivíduo e mente? Imagine ver que a pessoa por quem você se apaixonou não é mais a mesma e que agora ela está ali com você em corpo, mas em mente e coração vocês já não combinam mais? Acho que esse sofrimento deve ser muito pesado para todos.
UnsplashDessa forma, o divórcio faz mal para os filhos, com certeza, sim, os julgamentos, falácias, o bullying, as piadinhas, tudo isso vai fazer um mal enorme nos filhos deste casal, mas acho que devemos pensar com carinho também no motivo que levou à separação. Cada parte envolvida deve ter lutado até o fim para manter o casamento, com muitos sacrifícios, paciência, sentimentos de impotência ou de que não consegue oferecer mais do que a realidade proporciona e mesmo assim, nenhum agradecimento, somente cara feia e reclamações, agora imagine isso por 5, 10 ou 20 anos seguidos?
Sendo assim, eu evito comparar as dores das pessoas, acho que isso não faz sentido, dizer que um sofre mais do que o outro, porque no fim das contas, cada um sofre aquilo que acha que tem que sofrer, cada um carrega a sua cruz o seu ponderamento daquela dor. Então, o divórcio faz mal para os filhos, com certeza, mas para os pais também deve fazer em alguns casos, quando eles sabem que existiu amor, carinho e cumplicidade e agora, somente o fim, o trágico, a separação.
Por isso, não digo ser pior mais para um do que para o outro, somente que o divórcio é o fim, é a dor que superou o amor, que os momentos alegres não existem mais e que, com isso, o desejo de ter uma certa liberdade de volta fala mais alto. Acho que o divórcio é igual às guerras, por mais que digam que um lado venceu, na verdade, todos os envolvidos perderam, não existem vencedores em uma guerra que matou milhares, assim como não existem vencedores em um divórcio que matou uma família.
