Have you ever imagined if your body had the cure for some serious disease? Like cancer, for example. Have you ever thought how crazy it would be if a human being could have in their DNA, somewhere hidden, a cure for this great evil that has lived with us all for so long? It would be really interesting, wouldn't it? In a “The Last of Us” style, you will have the cure for something that we have not been able to solve for a long time. But everything in life has a price, a cost, and in this case, could we trade our lives and privacy for a cure for cancer?
If that happened to me, I would love to be able to help humanity, but I would have my demands, such as not being locked up in a laboratory, trying to have as much privacy as possible, that all of this in some way does not affect my family, things like that. I think that the biggest fear of any person in these cases is being treated like an animal, arrested, handcuffed, without rights and much less freedom. To tell the truth, that would be my biggest fear too, but I think it would be possible to reach an agreement with the doctors and the government that would try to create a cure from my DNA.
I imagine that this whole process would be tiring, complex, and even if it were difficult to synthesize the cure, which reinforces that it could be like this for the rest of my life, I think that the greater good in doing this for humanity would be more rewarding. Of course, this would disrupt my life in some way, my personal goals, spending time with my family, visiting my mother. I don't know how the world would react. Would I become a celebrity? The man who carries the cure for cancer and with that have a bunch of journalists at my door? Well, I don't know if it would be like that.

I would certainly ask myself if there would be any harm of that kind to me, if I would really be sacrificed like an animal, a disposable person in exchange for a cure. Gosh, I would really hope that humanity had improved its thinking, because I wouldn't mind helping, with the certainty that it wouldn't hurt me, I don't think there's a problem. Now, if the process, in addition to being lifelong, could cause me a lot of harm, I don't know, I would be hesitant to help. My life is important too and I don't want to lose it.
This situation is just hypothetical, we can only imagine what to do or how it would be to do it, because at the right time, in the heat of the moment, would I really have the courage to do it? Would the doctors, government and companies be sincere and respectful to me? Would I be locked up for the rest of my life like a criminal or a laboratory animal? I don't know, there's no way of knowing. The world is very confusing and strange, but I think it would be great if someone could help humanity by curing a serious disease and even more by evolving their minds towards acceptance and respect.

Já imaginou se o seu corpo tivesse a cura para alguma doença grave? Como o câncer, por exemplo. Já pensou que loucura se um ser humano conseguisse ter em seu DNA, em algum lugar ali escondido, uma cura para esse mal tão grande que convive com todos nós por tanto tempo? Seria bem interessante, não é? Em uma pegada, “The Last of Us” você terá a cura para algo que há tempos não conseguimos resolver. Mas tudo na vida tem um preço, um custo e, neste caso, será que poderíamos trocar nossa vida e privacidade pela cura do câncer?
Se isso acontecesse comigo, eu adoraria poder auxiliar a humanidade, mas eu teria as minhas exigências, como, por exemplo, não ficar preso em um laboratório, tentar ter o máximo de privacidade, que tudo isso de alguma forma não afetasse a minha família, coisas do tipo. Acho que o maior medo de qualquer pessoa nestes casos é ser tratada igual a um animal, preso, algemado, sem direitos e muito menos liberdade. Para falar a verdade, esse seria o meu maior medo também, mas acho que seria possível entrar em um acordo com os médicos e o governo que fosse tentar criar a cura a partir do meu DNA.
Imagino que todo esse processo seria cansativo, complexo e, mesmo que fosse difícil sintetizar a cura, o que reforça que poderia ser assim pelo resto da vida, acho que o bem maior em fazer isso pela humanidade seria mais recompensador. Claro que isso iria atrapalhar minha vida de certa forma, os objetivos pessoais, passar o tempo com a minha família, visitar a minha mãe, não sei como poderia ser a reação do mundo, será que eu iria virar uma celebridade? O homem que carrega a cura para o câncer e com isso ter aquele monte de jornalistas na porta da minha casa? Bem, não sei se seria assim.
UnsplashUm ponto bem importante também é sobre a minha integridade física e mental. Eu com certeza iria perguntar se haveria algum dano do tipo para mim, se eu seria realmente sacrificado como um animal, uma pessoa descartável em troca da cura. Caramba, eu iria torcer muito para a humanidade ter melhorado o seu pensamento, porque eu não acharia ruim ajudar, com a certeza de que isso não faria mal para mim, acho que não tem problemas. Agora, se o processo, além de ser para a vida toda, pudesse me causar muitos males, não sei, ficaria receoso em ajudar. Minha vida é importante também e eu não quero perder-lá.
Essa situação é apenas hipotética, apenas podemos imaginar o que fazer ou como seria fazer, até porque na hora X, no calor do momento, será que eu iria ter coragem de fazer mesmo? Será que os médicos, governo e empresas seriam sinceros e respeitosos comigo? Será que eu iria ficar preso pelo resto da vida como um bandido ou um animal de laboratório? Não sei, não tem como saber. O mundo anda bem confuso, estranho, mas acho que seria legal se alguém pudesse ajudar a humanidade com a cura de uma doença grave e ainda mais evoluindo suas mentes para aceitação e respeito.
