Imagining a world where public services could all be privatized, we could have countless ideas and opinions about whether this would be good for the population in general. Let's imagine that roads, water and sanitation, lighting, health, all of this that the government of each country should provide us for free and that is generally precarious, if it were possible for a company or a group of people to acquire rights and privatize all of this, would that be a good thing? Opinions naturally differ, but I think that in the end it would be good, a great improvement in the quality offered to everyone.
In Brazil, something I have already mentioned in other posts is the big difference between public and private healthcare, so private healthcare definitely wins in terms of quality, which we also have to spend more money to obtain. For me, it is normal, if I can pay for something and therefore have better quality, that is completely natural. Having several options and being able to choose the one that fits within my budget is something really cool for me. Another example is the roads, in this case the highways in Brazil, some stretches are privatized, so tolls are charged, but the quality of these highways is much better than the part that belongs to the state.
So, I don't have the right knowledge to say whether it would really be good or bad if that were to happen, but if we look at numbers and statistics, certainly everything done by private companies seems to have a much higher quality and return than what is done by the government, whether city, state or federal. Of course, not everyone has the resources to acquire such quality, so this creates another problem: if everything were privatized, what would happen to the poorest? It's a difficult question to answer, because I think that, deep down, there's no way to create a public policy that applies 100% to everyone.
UnsplashWhat could be done in principle would be that the charge for using public means of transport (which are now private) would be based on a percentage and not fixed amounts. Therefore, if you were charged 5% of what you earn to use a road, then those who earn less would pay less and those who earn more would pay more. I think that this relativization of charges could be achieved as fairly as possible and there would still be people who were unable to pay for their use, forcing the problem to still be solved.
Looking at it this way, it seems cruel to the poorest, but it is not. I believe that our world, society, the way we live, and this even includes Hive and its structure and ecosystem, things have to be done to cover as many people as possible, so the point is that whatever is done has to be done to cover the majority and not the minority. I repeat, this is how we live today, the votes of the majority, what the majority thinks, the service that can deliver better results for the majority, so I think that this privatization would, yes, improve all aspects so that the population can live better.
Here in Brazil, if we look at the issue of public health, if 10 people go to the hospital, 11 die and this may even seem like a bad joke, but it is what I usually hear and see in articles, newspapers, on the internet, everywhere. So, if this same public health were privatized by a company, out of every 10 people who enter the hospital, 8 survive and the two who die due to some fatality, medical complications or even lack of money to pay for the consultation, exam, doctor or surgery, I believe that the balance would be positive, after all, if today the majority die even in the queues waiting for a consultation, with privatization, if I can pay, I at least know that I will get out alive.
Would that make this system a monster? I don't think so, because more lives would be saved. Of course, if I could privatize something and take over a hospital, streets or a water treatment plant, I would do everything I could to serve as many people as possible, so I would rack my brains to think of some way to have at least a respectable minimum for very low-income families and thus gradually create a system through a percentage based on what the person proves they earn or something similar, always seeking the best justice for everyone.

Imaginando um mundo onde os serviços públicos pudessem ser todos privatizados, poderíamos ter inúmeras ideias e opiniões se isso seria bom para a população em geral. Vamos imaginar que estradas, água e saneamento, iluminação, saúde, tudo isso que o governo de cada país deveria nos fornecer de graça e que geralmente é precário, se fosse possível uma empresa ou um grupo de pessoas adquirir direitos e privatizar tudo isso, seria algo bom? As opiniões naturalmente se divergem, mas acho que no fim de tudo seria sim bom, uma grande melhoria na qualidade oferecida para todos.
No Brasil, uma coisa que já comentei em outras postagens é a grande diferença entre a saúde pública e privada, então a particular com certeza ganha na questão da qualidade, na qual também temos que desembolsar mais recursos para obtê-la. Para mim, é normal, se posso pagar algo e com isso ter uma qualidade melhor, isso é super natural. Ter várias opções e poder escolher aquela que encaixa no orçamento é algo bem legal para mim. Outro exemplo são as estradas, no caso as rodovias do Brasil, alguns trechos são privatizados, então é cobrado pedágio, mas a qualidade destas rodovias é muito melhor do que a parte que pertence ao estado.
Portanto, não tenho o conhecimento correto para dizer se é realmente bom ou ruim, se isso fosse acontecer, mas se olharmos números e estatísticas, com certeza tudo o que for feito por empresas privadas parece ter uma qualidade e retorno muito superior ao que é feito pelos governos, seja prefeitura, estado ou federal. Claro que nem todos possuem recursos para adquirir tal qualidade, então assim criamos outro problema, se tudo fosse privatizado, como ficariam os mais pobres? É uma pergunta difícil de responder, porque acho que, no fundo, não tem como fazer alguma política pública que fique 100% para todo mundo.
UnsplashO que poderia ser feito a princípio seria que a cobrança para utilizar os meios públicos (que agora são privados) fosse por meio de uma porcentagem e não por valores fixos, sendo assim, se para usar uma estrada fosse cobrado 5% do que você ganha, pelas contas quem ganha menos pagaria menos e quem ganha mais pagaria mais. Acho que essa relativização das cobranças poderia chegar ao ponto mais justo possível e ainda assim haveria pessoas que não conseguiram pagar pela sua utilização, forçando que ainda existiria um problema a ser resolvido.
Olhando desta forma, parece maldade com os mais pobres, mas não é isso. Acredito que o nosso mundo, a sociedade, a maneira como vivemos e isso inclui até mesmo a Hive e sua estrutura e ecossistema, as coisas têm que ser feitas para cobrir o máximo de pessoas possíveis, então, a questão é que o que for feito tem que ser feito para abranger a maioria e não a minoria. Repito, isso é como vivemos hoje, os votos da maioria, o que a maioria acha, o serviço que consegue entregar resultados melhores para a maioria, então acho que essa privatização iria, sim, melhorar todos os quesitos para a população viver melhor.
Aqui no Brasil, se a gente olhar a questão da saúde pública, se 10 pessoas vão ao hospital, 11 falecem e isso pode até parecer piada de mal gosto, mas é o que costumo ouvir e constar em matérias, jornais, internet, em tudo. Então, se essa mesma saúde pública fosse privatizada por uma empresa, de cada 10 pessoas que entram no hospital, 8 sobrevivem e as duas que falecem por alguma fatalidade, complicações médicas ou até mesmo falta de dinheiro para pagar a consulta, exame, médico ou cirurgia, acredito que o saldo seria positivo, afinal, se hoje a maioria falece até mesmo nas filas esperando por uma consulta, com a privatização se eu conseguir pagar, eu pelo menos sei que vou sair vivo.
Isso tornaria esse sistema um monstro? Acho que não, pois mais vidas seriam salvas. Claro que se eu pudesse privatizar algo e tomar conta de um hospital, ruas ou de um local de tratamento de água, faria o possível para atender o máximo de pessoas, então quebraria a cabeça para pensar em alguma forma de ter pelo menos um mínimo respeitável para famílias de baixíssima renda e assim gradualmente ir criando um sistema por meio de porcentagem em cima daquilo que a pessoa comprova que ganha ou algo parecido, buscando sempre a melhor justiça para todos.
