❗A keyboard just as the name implies(KEY-BOARD), is a collection of black and white keys(not keys for padlock 😅) arranged in an orderly, and repeated manner. 5black and 7white keys are sequentially arranged horizontally as an octave and then the octave is repeated in an increasing and decreasing order of pitch.
When these sets(octave) of keys are arranged together as one, then the stack is called a keyboard.
❗The keyboard instruments, are musical instruments uses a keyboard to produce sounds when pressed upon. These instruments are : piano, organ, synthesizer, digital keyboard, accordion, clavichord, harpsichord etc...
Note that these instruments mentioned are invented with keyboard attached that enables it to produce sounds.
❗A piano is an instrument that produces a sounds using a mechanism of keys,hammer and strings. When the keys are pressed upon, it triggers a small hammer behind it to hit a string and cause vibration for the sound to be heard. A typical piano, produces one sound.
❗A electronic keyboard is a keyboard instrument that uses electricity to power itself that it can be functional.
❗A digital keyboard is a keyboard instrument that is programmed and built-in with presets of other instruments. It's powered by electricity and programmed to mimic sounds of other natural instruments such as, piano, guitar, violin, trumpet, etc.. and also as well produce artificial sounds(sounds from non-natural sources.
❗ A synthesizer also an electric keyboard instrument that helps you manipulate and modify sounds pre-progrmamed. A synthesizer is a digital keyboard.
❗An pipe organ is an electronic keyboard instrument that has multiple layers of keyboard. And produces sound through pipes when the keys are pressed upon.
