Many times I've heard that lies are of different types, it's funny how we give lies different types of colours, as we have White lies, we also have black lies, maybe there are other types, but this two are the most popular, we tag the white lie as a good lie, a kind of lie someone tell for a good reason, maybe to save someone from getting into trouble, making a terrible mistake and so on. While we tag the black lie to be a kind of lie that's not good, for a bad course, maybe to actually cover up our wrong doing or someone's wrong doings.
Even though we were taught that Lie is Lie, nothing like white, black, purple or green lie, any kind of lie is a sin but then looking at it critically, I think sometimes we find ourselves in some tight corners that for peace to reign or to avoid someone from making a terrible mistake or decision, we lie. Nevertheless, I've learnt that it's best to say the truth at all times, no matter what but then we're humans, not perfect but still striving towards perfection.
Few months ago, I had to tell a lie, what some people call a white lie, in order to just avoid a son of man from troubling me and also let everyone rest. I have a brother who loves fashion even more than some women, at some point I was thinking he will just go into modeling, because he takes fashion as a big deal.
So there was this day that he was selected to be one of his friends men in agbada, actually it was one of his secondary school friends wedding, some other old friends were also invited, so it was more like a reunion for some of them.
As usual, he gave the cloth to his fashion designer who has always been styling him beautifully, what caused the problem was that there was a particular style that was picked for the agbada but then I think there was a mix up somewhere so the very good tailor who has always been a super man disappointed big time, he sow a different style entirely and the cloth was not really in its best condition. To make matters worse the cloth was delivered a night before the event, so there was nothing that can be done to correct the mistake, he couldn't return it, it was just there.
Due to the error, my brother was already thinking he won't attend the wedding and take excuse from his friends that he won't be coming around, even though the wedding will actually be a big one and he has been dreaming of that day how big and interesting the day will be, because it will definitely be a day to unite again with and get to see his friends back then again after so many years. Now this is the point where I come in, I actually want him to go and then, he's already getting depressed due to the error in the dress.
Obviously his spirit was down because it's likely that he will be the only one with a different style contrary to what was agreed by everybody. As a fashion man, this is a very red flag but I was able to convince him that it doesn't matter, and that he might not be the only one that his tailor would make mistake with their cloth. Even though I know the cloth is not too good especially as part of the men in agbada and then the cloth ought to be a uniform but after much persuasion, he complied.
In the long run, when he got to the event, he was the only one that his tailor made mistake with his cloth, he was very different hehehe. But then the bright side was that his friends appreciate the design on his cloth and even demand for his tailors number to also patronize him. Hmm beauty is in the eye of the beholder I think. Thankfully he was happy to some extent despite wearing a totally different cloth from others. I think my lie was not too bad after all.
