Mental health includes our emotional, psychological and social wellbeing. It also determines how we handle stress, decision making and relationships.
It should be taken seriously just as we care for our health and well-being of our physical bodies.
A lot of things is happening in the world today, some are getting depressed probably by what they see and hear in their various environment, for instance when a friend of yours buy a car or build a house and you don't even have a means to buy a bike talkless of a car, If care is not taken you start over thinking before you know it you get depressed.
We've seen series of cases where people harm themselves because of peer pressure, maybe a friend of theirs is doing well while they are not, or they're going through difficult times, instead of leaving everything to God, they end up doing things they will will regret while some are not even lucky to survive it.
And to some it's not money but because they fail to get what they want, they think the world is not fair to them and start thinking of a way to end their life.
Some months back I heard the story of a young guy who took his own life by jumping into the lagoon because of depression. Not only him, there are many people like that, who also took their own life due to what they're going through probably because it's beyond what they think it's bearable for them.
- I understand the fact that problem never ends in life: No matter how rich, how balanced you think you're or how blessed you're just understand that you're not above facing challenges, be prepared to face challenges, be prepared to face problems as long as you're human and still breathing, it's only the dead that is free of facing challenges.
Everything in life is full of risk, be it business, marriage and even the life we're in is full of risk because no one is going out alive.
I don't let anyone oppress me with his or her social or financial status: Some people judge their life based on the life of others, the set of "my friends are rich I must be rich at all cost too" without putting to consideration how the so called friends acquire their wealth. They just want to be rich at all cost too without minding if the source is good or evil. After running the race they ought not to and they still don't get what they want, it leads to something else which is not always funny.
I learn to be contented with what I have, with the hope that I'll have more with the help of God while striving consistently. I'm not in competition with anyone so I don't even allow anyone pressure me, I run my race and enjoy a peaceful life, I only set target that I know I can attain. But setting target for myself based on the standard of living of other people, that I'll never do. Trying to be like someone will most likely make one end up being depressed. While not just be yourself, the last time I checked everyone else is already taken. I'll rather be the best I can be than craving to be like someone else, I believe I'm special, unique and one of a kind, so being like someone else can't even work one bit.
Mental health is important, it shouldn't be taken with levity.
