It's good to put effort in whatever we do because it goes a long way in determining the result maybe it will be positive or negative. But atimes the effort we put in a thing might not really justify the result, it happens that way too sometimes. Some things occur to teach us a lesson only if we could see it. Sometimes you labour so hard so as to get your desired result but it's the other way round, and sometimes you put in a little effort, and then you see a very good result. That's what we called little effort with a lot of huge profit or income (in Yoruba, we say ishe kekere, owo pupo), it's something most of us pray and wish for, we want to work less and achieve big, it's not bad anyways.
When I was in school I could remember a lot of times when I had sleepless night all in the name of "I want to come out in flying colours, I want good grades." yeah fortunately for me the hardwork and effort paid off, it wasn't in vain. And today I'm proud to say it anywhere that I worked hard to graduate well.
It got to a time that I didn't have time for so many things again, I was only focused on school, I had to leave so many things that were hindering me from achieving my goals.
One of the things I'm good at is playing footballer, a very good one at that. But back then I school when things began to fall out of hand I had to tighten my belt. I noticed playing football was only damaging things rather than making things better, I had no other choice but to stay away from it at least for the main time, it's a game I can't do without actually, i still play till now and I also have plans to continue playing even when I'm old, lols.
The unnecessary visit to friends house had to stop, my life was becoming very boring to some people, I didn't mind though, I know what I want, and I know it's just for the main time to get myself back together. Of course I was able to achieve my aim at the long run.
I also became a friend to the library, suddenly became a librarian without appointment. I had to marry my books, made my books my best friend.
Just as I've rightly mentioned earlier that I play football, have been playing for a long time now, I joined a football in town and even in my church football team I was the assistant captain, football is life for people like me. Unfortunately, there was a time my football team in town went to play a football competition , we were already in the finals but were beaten woefully by underdogs, we had no other choice than to settle for second place. The painful part was that we trained very hard everyday just to win that tournament, even with a minor injury I still manage to play the match, yet we were beaten blue black.
Ordinarily we do beat the team on a good day, but this time around, everything changed, our efforts didn't justify the result.
So far so good have come to understand that it's not about how much effort you put in alone, yeah hardwork is very important, and of course I don't joke with working hard to get ones aims and objectives but one of the facts have come to realize is that there's something called Grace. It makes one make less effort and graciously have a good result.
So hardwork and grace equals a perfect result.
Also we should not see any time of our life whatsoever to be a mistake, there's something we need to learn in every situation we find ourselves, even in failure there's something to learn, you need to check what made you fail, work on it and then success awaits.
