Hello everyone, it's good to feature in another contest of Hive Learners community...
So, talking about Bribery and corruption hmmm... let me take a deep breath, because if I should start talking about it from now till tomorrow I won't still say it all why, because it had been the order of the day here. Alright so let me start by saying am a Nigerian and I so much love my country but am afraid if my country loves me or the citizens therein.
We live in a country where a policeman can kill you because of fifty naira (#50) if you fail to give a policeman bribe at checkpoint during their so called stop and search, you might be in serious trouble and even blame yourself in the long run.
Till now I still wonder why our policemen collect money from every travellers they meet on the road especially transporters, is it that the government are depriving then if their salary? Hell no... Am so sure the government never forgets them when its time to pay salary, I even learnt the police force is one of the highest paid force in the country, so why collecting bribe again... Till now am still looking for an answer.
Another worst scenario is that been a graduate in my country does not guarantee you of getting a job not to talk of getting a good job. If you don't know people up there (high government officials like senators, ministers, commissioners, local government chairmen, governors and the likes) you might be as useless as anything. Imagine after all those years in higher institution studying day and night thinking some day your country would reward you with a good job not knowing you're only on your own.
Now you see graduates with first class ending up as a bikeman, when there's no means to survive asides him stopping so low to work as an okada rider before he could feed himself and his family. Nowadays graduates forgets their certificate and go out to learn one trade or the other since there's no hope that his or her certificate would fetch him anything good in return.

"SCHOOL IS A SCAM" has now become a normal slang on the streets why? When an illiterate has a higher chance of succeeding than a graduate.. it's so pathetic I must say.
We live in a country where the people in power embezzle money as much as they can while there is virtually no one, not even the EFCC to check them... I shake my head for this country.
We live in a country where presidential candidate form is been sold for a whopping sum of 100 million naira... I laugh out loud for the future of this country.
We live in a country where criminals can commit an offense and still get away with it after using money to shut the mouth of those that could charge him/her to court or put him or her to justice.
We're blessed with crude oil as one of our natural resources but citizens of the same country suffer before they could get the fuel and still have buy at a very high price.
We live in a country that has borrowed so much from world bank or wherever they normally borrow from and do not even have the intentions of paying back... Gradually selling ourselves out for slavery.

One of our leaders once said that he wants to fight corruption hmm... I take a deep breath again, unfortunately his tenure is the worst we've seen in the history of Nigeria in terms of corruption and virtually all other sector.
My beloved country Nigeria now wine and dine in bribery and corruption like its the normal thing. I could also remember, someone said corruption is way too much in the country and the only way it could be eradicated is only if God could wipe and destroy everyone therein... Hmm
I do not pray that happens anyway.
I could go on and on writing but like I said earlier bribery and corruption cannot be said all, because it's just too much and it's getting worse day by day.
Nevertheless I pray God will change Nigeria for good and make it a better place for us all... Amen
