My full name is Oluwanishola but people call me shola because it's easier to call and it's also the short form of my name, so you see how I derived my hive username sholex. Of course with my name, majority especially a Nigerian will be able to know or guess my tribe, yeah I'm a typical Yoruba boy to the core, born and brought up in Kwara state.

Kwara is North Central and with different kind of languages, hearing north central one would think it's a state where they speak Hausa but no, even the capital of the state is dominated with yoruba speaking people with some fulani's. I'm from Ekiti local government, this part of the state speaks Yoruba, our kind of Yoruba is similar to that of the people in Ekiti state. Sometimes when I tell people that I'm from Ekiti L.G.A they mistake it for Ekiti state.
What's the meaning of my name, in English, my name Oluwanishola means "it's God that creates wealth." and that's exactly how it's, God owns wealth, He creates it and also gives to anyone He wishes to give. Some people needs to understand this and stop running from pillar to post looking for evil and illegal ways to make money or have wealth.
I love my name so much because it carries a big meaning. Have heard some people answer weird names, and I imagine what those that gave them those names were thinking. Where I come from, we believe a child's name is very important and also has something to do with the child bearing it in one way or the other. Therefore, one needs to be very careful while naming a child.
Like the story of a man named Jabez, meaning a child of sorrow, imagine someone bear that kind of evil name, it can make that child live in sorrow for the rest of his life if care is not taken, but I so much love him, as he quickly reject the evil name by crying onto Hos maker for a better life. If not, maybe that's how he would have lived a sorrowful life all through his lifetime.
In this regard I think every parent should take note of the kind of name they will give their children, a name is not what we just give a child without even thinking about it, some will just pick names randomly, I think that's not good enough.
Our names are very important and should be treated as one.

The only time I have a cause to change my name was when I traveled to Abuja, a visit which suppose to last a moth but end up lasting a year, in school then hardly will you see someone that knows how to pronounce my name correctly, so in other to free myself from hearing what is not, I just asked everyone to call me by my English name, Daniel. It's my second name and I also love it too.
Daniel is a Christian name which was gotten from the Bible, meaning God is my judge. It was recorded that he was thrown into the Lions den but God saved him miraculously without being hurt by the lions.
Nevertheless, i still prefer being called Shola any day and anytime. My name my Pride.
