One of the things I'm always grateful for is the kind of environment I live, though there's no place that's totally crime free, even in the most peaceful state in the world, you will still find one or two crime history or challenges. Nevertheless my area, Ilorin in Kwara state is one of the most peaceful place in Nigeria, judging with the cases of kidnapping and banditry that's happening in the country at the moment most especially in the north.

Like I said Ilorin is one of the most peaceful part of the state probably because it's the capital or because there are enough security agencies compared to other local government.
There are some part of the state that are experiencing hard times even as we speak, if I don't know of any place I know about some things happening in Ekiti local government area.
Not long ago, some set of herdsmen entered a particular town in the same Ekiti L.G.A, they injured alot of people and killed one person, just because the villagers went to the police station to report the evil their cows did to their farm, and the police told the herdsmen to pay certain amount of money as damages, after paying they went back to the farm to retaliate on the farmers. Damaging alot of things and going as far as killing an innocent soul.
I know one of the affected persons that was also injured in the incident. A lot of things is actually happening in that area.
But here in Ilorin the state capital, though there's kidnapping and killing too but not as rampant as that side.
Maybe those that lives in student area might have one or two things to complain more about, because student areas are known to be quite troublesome, especially when the cult groups start showing themselves, you just need to do all you can do to stay safe.
Luckily for me I'm not leaving in student area, so I I'll say my vicinity is quite peaceful.
Anything from 11pm everyone is expected to be in their various houses, except cases where one has emergencies, probably if one's wife is in labour and it falls in the night time, one would be left with no choice than to go to the hospital in the night.

There are some places in the country that you'll see people outside even in the middle of the night, places like Lagos, I don't know how they cope there anyways but I think there are used to it already.
There was a time I traveled to Lagos, I can still remember very well, I went to a local restaurant at 11pm and still met people there as if it's in the day time, the street was still filled with people going to and fro, I could even hear the food seller telling one of the chef to put rice on fire at 11pm when I would have been fast asleep if I'm ilorin.
Anyways that's one of the things I love about Lagos, you can easily get what you need at any time of the day depending on the area you stay.
When it was morning, we woke up around 3am and start preparing for the day, you'll see people at the bus stop already by 4am, 4:30am... going to work, because if you wake up late, you might blame yourself due to the normal Lagos traffic, so to avoid that you need to wake up as early as possible so as to get to where you need to go before the hold show you shege (problem).
By and large, I'll still prefer my vicinity compared to any other place in Nigeria because I think it's more peaceful.
